The 'new' 1/72 F-15E from Hasegawa is a heavily updated edition of their existing 1/72 F-15C/D/J/DJ/E Eagle kit (the newer tool one with engraved panel lines).

Although Hasegawa has been selling the kit as an F-15E previously, it never had the right parts to build a production aircraft.

There has never been a proper, all-up F-15E in 1/72 scale up till now, so this kit (however boring it may look) is actually an important release.

The display stand you see will only be given for the initial production run.

Now the question is, if it comes in to malaysia. When, and how much. And more importantly for me, would the stands be included.

Looks possible, but if the separation between the 2 'prongs' is adjustable, it would be a sure thing.

Anyway, I read on another forum that the stand is from Hasegawa's ASF Shinden II kit.

Yep, I've been waiting a long time for Hasegawa's 'proper' 1/72 Mud Hen. Hmphh one question though, how does it compare to Fujimi's new F-15E?

Fujimi's '1/72 scale' F-15E is actually 1/66 scale.

It's not a bad kit still, but here and there it looks toy-like.

For example, you get a one piece canopy with no option for posing it open, and the pylon sway braces are over-sized.

It's really a shame they got the scale wrong.

The down-side of Hasegawa's F-15E is that it is based on their existing mould for their F-15C/D/J/DJ kit.

So there will be some areas which are unlikely to be updated or modified to E model specs., since Hasegawa will probably want to keep the mould generic.

The good news is that none of this are major areas, and will mostly involve scribing of some new panel lines, and a bit of putty work.

The Fujimi 1/66 scale F-15E is reasonably accurate in terms of E model specific details, so can at least serve as a guide for some extra detailing of the Hasegawa kit.
