Digger,

I'm almost certain I'm going to put down my name...

I understand that there is a JASDF museum around somewhere. Saw a link to it on Hasegawa's website a couple years back.

Just wondering if there is any possibility of including it?

EDIT: The JASDF museum is at Hamamatsu Air Base in Shizuoka Prefecture.

A link to someone's photo's of the exhibits:

Hi guys,

a) Have not set foot on Japan yet, so don't know how CHEAP kits will be in Japan. but if we buy Tamiya from Tamiya factory ....
Anyone out there who has raided Tokyo hobby stores ... care to enlighten us, thks.

b) Doolittle Raiders had 16 B-25s, ... we hope to have at least 16 raiders for our Tokyo Raid. Co-incidentally, Doolittle Raid was April 18, 1942 ... our raid is on April 6, 2013 ... that makes it like a 71st anniversary, give & take 12 days difference.

c) Current raiders list:

1) Digger
2) Mr. Koh (a regular travel client of mine who don't mind to join the tour)
3) See Liang
4) Jason F4dablemodels

d) Hamamatsu Air Base museum is about 70km further west from Shizouka. If we remove 1 of the 2 Mt Fuji activity and the Gotemba Premium Outlet shop, should be able to squeeze Hamamatsu in. Let see how our raiders' list develop...

Hi ,
I am interested to go as well . Any Japanese kit is generally 10-15% cheaper than box
price in the Hobby shops in Japan . There is a 2nd hand shop in Akihabara too called Leonardo.
This is where unbuilt collections go when people let them go.
Any imported kit ie Revell , Airfix is subject to high Japanese import tax due to protection .

I have one question:
1) Is it possible to arrange the visit to coIncide with the Shizouka Hobby Show?

Eng Hui, thanks for the info on model kit prices. As for Shizouka Hobby Show, I have to check about room rates during that peak period in Shizouka, may be high because of the show.

Very tempting indeed.

Always wanted to visit Japan, land where one of my ancestor came from.

Hmmm... I wonder if our forum member, sky_tokyodrifter would still be there next year.
