Hello, again.

I want to tell you guys that I have a new product coming out soon. And for those who has seen the teaser trailer from the Moebius Cylon Raider thread, this is the follow up.

So far, the design for the board is done and the features more or less confirmed except for some one or two secret features. Will this be a reality soon?

Loo CK,

Thanks, we're trying to get this to market as soon as possible.

As for the Arc Reactor, its not a problem but finding that toy is not easy now. Do you have one which I can modify for you?

Also, note that the new 2012 Arc Reactor which came out during the Avengers movie is too thin to be worked on. This is because they have designed the front fascia to face inwards unlike the 2009 Arc Reactor which bulges outward.

Still, that design look great and has more sound effects compared to the earlier one.

Well, you can ask Mr. Low to bring them in biggrin.gif

But most the the members who bought from me actually bought the lighting system first and worry about getting the kit later. yes, its very limited edition. tongue.gif

Thanks Loo CK,

At the moment, had to recall the PCB production because we discovered a serious problem with the LED's light dissipation. The centre part is good but its the square outer rings which are not being lit. This is due to the LED's 5mm's default 30º viewing angle which is too narrow. This weekend I am going to try another LED and hopefully, this does not increase the price.

Anyway, here is the picture which you can the flaw.

This is the sight which we saw when the nodel was sprayed with surfacer to block excess light but ice edged ring though.

There is a slight delay to the progress. While we were out of town for a few days, I went to see my friend to borrow his prepped Viper for a light test again.

This is the Thruster part which has been light-proofed with surfacer where the middle hole has not been drilled. We are quite pleased because now, the eight side holes are lit! I think its a little too bright because you can see the surfacer is weakening.... ha ha ha. Not.

This is another prepped and painted thruster part, but this time, has a middle hole drilled out. I think we might need to put a 3M Scotch tape in the middle to make it less bright.

And so, with the modified LED, I stopped the circuit board guys from going ahead as I needed to redesign it and also, re-prototype it again because I am still in disbelieve.

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to assemble one more prototype PCB although I had the guys at the shop make four. I am glad I did the prototype because now, there is a problem in the design. Or maybe, I hope it was in the software. If I had skipped this step and gave the go-ahead to make the boards, there would be a big problem when they are ready. This is because the problem would be multiplied by a hundred times.

These are the latest PCB which I had re-designed last week. Because of the increased size of the PCB, the charges went up quite a lot, leaving me without much cash to buy the much needed components to bring the total working boards to at least two.

The Good News:
The new LEDs works but now, but the three thrusters are so bright that even with a some diffused tape, my eyes still get blinded.
The Bad news:
The LEDs gets quite warm after a few minutes and this worries me. Also, because of the huge power drain caused by the three LEDs, the cockpit LEDs also flicker. I have used a voltage regulator and the result was still the same. Its only when you switch back to the normal 5mm LEDs that the flicker stops.

So now, I am at a crossroad because of the flicker in the cockpit. Maybe I should stop this development of this product until I can find a solution to the problem. But the problem is, there is no one I could talk to for help on this matter.
