Well...after noticing the custom map community slowing down and what seems to be servers playing only dust2 and office, I've decided to keep the custom map thing going anyway. Don't get me wrong...I love just about all the stock maps that come with CS:S (except maybe dust1), but the enthusiasm for mapping doesn't seem to be around like it used to be. Makes me wonder where all the enthusiasm within the community went?

Either way I still love making custom maps and enjoy seeing servers play the maps I made. It's worth shelling out the cash for this web-host to keep it going.

Here's where you come in: What would you like to see on this website to make it better for you? I'm open to all responses.

Enjoy!

I think a nice little side area for your site could be an information thread or threads, Like a list in order of importance for the beginning mappers to consider before jumping into a map, layout, strangle points, game-play and all the tech stuff they should be aware of...etc. I know the banana has that stuff in droves but you could just have the most important pertinent things.....
I guess a beginning mapper area is what I mean.

I'm not a mapper I'm the red-headed step child of mappers. I am a naver the banana doesn't even consider that as worth mentioning. They told me there is the auto-generated nav mesh so navers can't submit their work.

I'm here and there[banana] because the auto-gen is in most cases worthless. all auto-gens are supposed to be hand tuned before they are used. I don't use them unless the map already has one. I seed a map by hand to make the nav.

Most mappers I have met, and I have over 200 maps on the banana using my navs, don't even know how to view their nav file.

Sorry I didn't mean to go on a tangent, I will mention if any of you are interested in tunning your own navs you can google chizbone and about the third listing down is Xfire where I have about 20 video tutorials on CSS navigation. I would be more than happy to assist any of you with nav issues or questions...
