Session 3; Down the Shaft You Go, A cocktail party gone wrong....

[Esme Squalor]

I decided to start Session 3, Session 2 conversation is ending so might as well start it for those already out of the picture. I hope thats ok with you guys.

The date for this session is the morning of November 13th.

Esme climbed down the last flight of stair with a smile. It was a bit windy in Traverse Town today. The sunlight and wind made a crispy solution. Esme wore a white furcoat, along with a white fur hat and a sleek white dress.

"Wait honey!" gasped and wheezed her husband who was dressed in a large coat with at ie and a fedora hat. "Come on Jerome!" she snapped as she gripped her purse tightly.

Go outside into the Second District Esme searched for signs of Yuffie or any of the brats that were with her. She practiced putting on a nice mask on as she smiled. "Honey I'm glad that you've decided to turn a new leaf. You were even so nice as to go personally invite those people to our cocktail party today."

Esme smiled. "Well of course dear, I just want to say how sorry I am for acting so sourly toward them. It will not happen again." she said sweetly. "Now lets go find our guests.." she said as she turned and headed for the First District.

[Lien Brescher]

Lien was in the item shop purchasing items for her mother. She had gotten an invitation from the woman and her husband to attend... something. Couldn't remember exactly what, but Lien decided if the others were going that she would attend as well.

She ran home quickly to drop off the things, then ran through the door to the 1st district.

I don't see anyone yet... are they not coming?

[Esme Squalor]

Esme opened the double doors of the Second District and entered the first. She walked down the steps to the square where she that red headed pencil pusher from yesterday.

"Hey you!" she said walking over to her. "Did you get my invitation?" she asked with a sweet smile.

[Lien Brescher]

Something about this woman wasn't right. Lien tried not to let her eyes narrow at the sight of Esme and her husband approaching, and she pressed her lips into a strained, polite smile.

"Yes, I did, but did anyone else say they- is anyone else coming?"

She shifted her feet as her eyes went down to the ground. Her thoughts drifted to the other citizens of the world. Kai, Yuffie, Aerith, Leon... Cid, Sakura, and Elena too. They already seemed to know each other quite well, were they having their own party that she wasn't invited to?

[Esme Squalor]

"I sent them all invitations too! I was on my way to check with all of them. I'm really sorry that I've caused you so much troubleyesterday. So I've decided to invtie you all to my cocktail party I'm having. I'd love it if you could go." she said kindly.

"You've met my husband Jerome correct?" he said as she motioned toward him. "Tis a pleasure." he said tipping his hat to her. "What is your name again?" asked Esme cutting in.

[Lien Brescher]

"Uh," she said, her stutter beginning to pronounce itself in her time of timidness," It's Li-Lien, Miss... What is your l-last name?"

Her eyes searched for a sign of someone coming, anyone that would save her the trouble of having to keep conversation.

[Cid Highwind]

he walked into the 1st district in his "good" clothes although they werent anything different than the clothes he normally wore. He saw the three. "hmph lets see what this lady is doing" he thought as he clenched his invitation. he walked up to Esme. "I apologize for Yuffie she can be a hothead sometimes. Think she gets it from me." he said as he stuck his hand out gesturing to shake.

[Esme Squalor]

"My last name? Why its Squalor." she said with another smile. "Why do you ask?" said Esme out of curiosity. *Wonderful ashe's afraid, oh she's a fun one.* thought Esme, a little chuckle setting off in her mind. She then turned to Cid. "Oh why thats no problem at all. I apologize for not cooperating to the situation. Speaking of which ,did you get my invitation?" she asked.

[Cid Highwind]

"uhhh yeah" he said . He showed the crumpled peice of parchment some oil smeared the corner. "So is anyone else comin'?" he questioned.

[Lien Brescher]

Her eyes lit up at the sight of someone else, and she immediately took backseat to the conversation happening between the three adults.

She began to wonder, There's something wrong with her... she has to be either the person she was yesterday or the one she is today... not both. So, which one is she?

[Esme Squalor]

"Good." she said. *Ungrateful maggot! I spent some money on those invitations!* she yelled at him in his mind as she smiled kindly. "Well I invited ahem that ninja, and the flower maiden, as well as the others who were there yesterday." she said.

[Elena Fayt]

Yawning and pushing open the doors to the sedond district, Elena came walking. She saw Cid, Lien and the woman from the other day. She let out a sigh. She had received an invitation from the woman, Esme Squalor.

Elena thought that something was odd about that. She jumped onto the ledge, looking down as she watched.

"Good morn..err...afternoon, Highwind-san! Lien-san! Squalor-san!" She greeted.

Her greeting sounds weird if you actually say it. XD

[Lien Brescher]

For some reason Lien let her mind slip," They're names are Yuffie and Aerith."

Her eyes found the ground more amusing than ever, after that.

I just had to say something! Ack!

[Esme Squalor]

"Have you received my invitation?" she asked with a smile. "I do apologize for what happened yesterday. It completley got out of hand." she said. "I hope that this will make up for what I've done." she said. "I hope your coming."

[Cid Highwind]

he saw Eleyna. "Hi. I didnt get to meet ya yesterday, I see you know my name now whats yours?" he smiled he hadnt heard someone call him san since he was a schoolboy.

[Elena Fayt]

"Elena Fayt." Elena answered. She turned to Esme, jumping down from the ledge. She landed next to Lien, smiling a fake smile which they couldn't tell was fake.

"Yeah, I'm coming if the others are."

[Sakura]

Dashing in quickly after Elena was bed head ridden Sakura, her clothes wrinkled and messily hanging off her frame. Having fell asleep quickly after last night's antics, the young girl had not been given the oppotunity to choose an approriate sleeping place.

"I'm here..every...one!" she cried, wearing an exuberent expression on her child-like face for a split second before collapsing in the middle of the group. She had introduced herself to the party last night, but she did not remember if they remember herself. Sakura was clearly out of it.

"Sumimasen..." she mumbled, her tail high in the air, her chin in the dirt.

"Slendid!" she said with a smile. "Did you get one?" she asked Sakura with a smile on her face. "Even if you weren';t there yesterday, I'd still love to have more people that I can get to know at my party." she said.

[Kai Shinomori]

Kai was in his usual spot, picking up from where he had started on his book, his feet layed nicely on the table, he sat there and read his own book, not noticing the others that were not too far away. He was obsorbed in the world of his own and wasnt going to get out of it willingly.

[Yuffie Kisaragi]

Last night, after the conversation in Cid’s shop, Yuffie had decided to walk on a few roofs to think this new info over. Sephiroth and Aerith? Jenova and Lifestream? That was just too weird. Finally, at who knows what time, Yuffie went back to the hotel and went to bed. She was dead tired.

The next morning, Yuffie could hear a lot of noise from the room down the hall. What the heck are they doing up so early in the morning?! If that person was Squall, she was going to kill him.

Yuffie couldn’t go to sleep anymore, even though she was still extremely tired. Is that even possible? she thought. Eh. Probably is. After nearly falling off her bed, she opened the back door to the room and jumped off the balcony. After that, she simply headed to the Second District and went through the doors to the First District. She had forgotten about her spaghetti yesterday.

With her head hanging and her mouth yawning constantly, Yuffie strutted over to the restaurant. She looked up. There was Kai. She walked to his table and plopped herself in the chair in front of him. Her head rested on the table, and she closed her eyes. “Hi Kai,” she said quietly. “Where’d you disappear to yesterday?” She yawned again. She’d had such a nice dream...about materia...miles and miles of it. She grinned, but then stopped. Kai probably thought she was goofy now for grinning weirdly while laying her head on the table.

And then she thought she heard that woman’s voice. That rude, aristocratic hag of a lady. Which, right now, sounded so sickeningly sweet. The ninja groggily lifted her head, but became instantly awake when she saw who was standing with that lady. Cid, Elena, Sakura, and Lien.

Yuffie pushed herself up and stomped over to the old pilot. “Cid!!” she screamed as she swiped the paper held in his hand. Her eyes darted over its contents. She scowled when she reached the end. “Oh my gawd! You’re such a traitor!” She looked to the others standing nearby. She assumed that they got an invitation too (which Yuffie was slightly jealous of, but she never checked the hotel for any mail since she didn’t think she would ever get mail anyway, so she didn’t know if she got one also). “Are you guys going to this hag’s party too? Don’t you remember yesterday?! She tried to kill us!” she huffed, tossing the invitation back to Cid and crossing her arms.

["Leon"]

With a big yawn, Leon pushed himself from underneath his covers and out into the cold, vacant house that he had made his home. Having left the conversation in disgust and not believing a word Cid had said about Sephiroth (Aerith had only been 7 when they'd left Hollow Bastion, and he wasn't sure that Sephiroth had ever met her), he'd sunk into an uneasy sleep. But he'd finally fallen into his dreams and awoken here, very groggy after the battle. He moaned in pain at the ache in his joints and muscles, wishing now that he hadn't just run into battle like that. He hadn't stretched before his training in the caves, either, so that would explain why he was feeling so much pain now. His exhaustion made opening the door to the Third District a chore in of itself.

When he stood outside, he stood up a bit straighter, knowing that this was the most dangerous part of Traverse Town at the moment. As he walked, he heard something skitter along the cobblestone before him, catching his attention. He bent down to examine the piece of paper and stuck his tongue out in disgust. It was invitation from that infernal witch. He sighed, picking it up in his two hands and tearing it up into small pieces. They fell into the wind and flew over the balcony and down into the plaza, where a curious mouse sniffed at it, yelped and ran off. Leon grinned slightly at that, thinking Even animals are frightened of her, and made his down to the First District.

When he entered, he covered his face, thinking himself to be very stupid. He had been consciously trying to avoid the woman, but there she was- and the others, no less! Pulling up his jacket more that his face wasn't entirely visible, he made his way around them and into the cafe, plopping down at a table where a man was sitting. By now, Yuffie had gone to that Esme slime and talked to her. Figures, he thought, Yuffie can never say no to free drinks. Sighing and stretching out, he pulled down his jacket and looked at the man opposite. He didn't recognize him at all, not having gone to the cafe last night. He thought this man to be sensible, as he was reading, a practice that had almost been lost on the youth of Traverse Town. Upon closer examination, he noticed that it was a book that he himself had been reading last night, before he'd gone training. It was quite good and now he thought higher of the man than he had before. In a low voice that was normal for Leon, he said, "Hey there. Name's Leon. You're new here in Traverse Town?" He offered a sly smile, strange for such a reserved man, but he felt that Kai deserved it.

[Cid Highwind]

“Are you guys going to this hag’s party too? Don’t you remember yesterday?! She tried to kill us!” she huffed, tossing the invitation back to Cid and crossing her arms.

Cid wa sleft mouth agape at the rudeness Yuffie was showing. "Excuse us for a second" he said to esme. He took Yuffie aside " Yuffie that was really rude I thought I raised you better than that. I know she made you mad but thats the past. Listen the least you could do is come I found your invitation too. Theyve got free food. And you know that the shop hasnt been getting much buisness lately dont mess up this potential customer. okay?" he smiled "now lets get back"

[Lien Brescher]

Hag wouldn't have been a word Lien would use for the woman, but her eyes went wide at Yuffie's outburst attacking the others. As Cid pulled Yuffie aside, Lien looked wildly around for an escape from the situation.

Ooo, I thought they were coming too! I didn't mean to--

She caught sight of Kai and the man that had gotten her out of the way yesterday. Slowly backing away from the woman and Elena, she scurried over to the table and nearly tripped over three chairs before finally making her entrance on the two men.

"Ow!" she whimpered as she cowered behind the table for a moment. Then she really tripped and fell on her tush, her body disappearing behind the table.

Her face was scrunched in pain and embarrassment, but she sat there all the same. After all, the others couldn't see her, save for Kai and his friend... right?

[Sakura]

Sakura saw that everyone was talking about some sort of invitation, and she was asked to come she lit up like a Christmas candle.

"REALLY?! I'd love to go! Is it formal?! I have no clothes to dress in! Could you help me pick something out?! But I dont have any money!" she exuberantly cried, pacing back and forth around Esme. She really wanted to be come friends with the lady because she knew, first hand, first glances aren't everything. It was a nice feeling, to actually come across someone who acted similarly to yourself. She hugged the beautiful woman ever so tightly before running over and telling Yuffie she was invited.

"I can't believe it! Only my second day and I've been invited to a party!! Are you going?! Is Kai-san going?! Hold on I'll ask! KAI -SAN!!!! ARE YOU GOING TO THE PARTY?!"

Sakura was not a literal ball of raw energy, ready to explode at any moment, running over to Kai she peeked over his book and tilted her head, trying to make sense of the language he was reading in, but unaware to her, she was trying to read upside down. After becoming restless she dashed back over to Esme and took her arm in a friendly way, twirling once before leaning down and looking up at the even taller woman.

"So when is it?" she asked with a bright smile.

[Kai Shinomori]

Though he thought today he may be able to finish his book he was wrong, that instant came in Yuffie who sat down with a weird bored glare in her eye. "Hey yuffie, where'd i go? well...." he paused for a moment, putting his hand behind his head frantically thinking of an excuse. "I uhh....had something i needed to do at home, yeah thats it, ive been working on something for a while!" he said with a laugh hoping he didnt sound too suspicious. but with that came another person, this one entering quite a bit louder, with a bang crash and a boom lien was on the ground, kai held back a laugh, then stopped knowing he had done the same once or twice in his childhood. Kai once again looked back at the group around the women that had tried to kill them just yesterday, how was it so easy for these people to forgive and forget? kai would still be roaring about it...oh well nothing to worry about i suppose...or atleast thats what he thought as the frantic one he hadnt even met yet came up to him, he wondered who this person was and looked just as befuzzled as he was. "Ummm hello." he said with a slight sigh, couldnt he have a moment of peace? "I dunno, im not exactly the partying type of guy"

Kai looked over at the man who had just sat down, this man of course seemed more of the brawler type of person, the kind that would be ready for a fight, but never start one. Kai looked at the man examining and trying to figure out what seemed to be a stone like gesture. with a sigh he put his book down, no point in reading it now for he would just forget it all later. "Hello, the names Kai, Kai Shinomori." he said with a normal voice, nothing loud but nothing quiet. "Actually no, ive been in this town most of my life, its probably just a coincidance that we have never met...im usually around this same spot.." kai said kinda awkwardly

[Lien Brescher]

Lien opened her eyes to see Sakura jumping around like she was on speed. Her eyes met Kai's for a moment, and she looked back on the ground.

"Is no one going to the party? I didn't know..."

Her eyes kept to the ground, she started to mumble something to herself along the lines of:

"I hate the woman more than you guys know, but I thought you were going... a party sounded like fun. I don't get invited much. 'Sounded like fun."

[Elena Fayt]

Elena stood there, listening to the many conversations. Cid had pulled Yuffie away to talk. The newcomer, Sakura was rambling on and on. Lien was muttering things while talking to Kai, who was also talking Leon. She smiled faintly at them.

"We're all getting along so well." She said, getting up from leaning on the wall. She sighed. Sarcasm was truly a language of all the worlds.

'So, should I go or not?' She was thinking of going, but she remembered what happened the other day. Then, she said, "I think I'm going for sure."

[Esme Squalor]

Esme winced at the hug of the girl. "Oh umm its today actually. I really hope you all can make it." she said with a smile. "Oh yes, I cook really well and I've prepared a feast!" said jerome with a smile. "Oh, Esme I'm so glad you've decided to do this, it brings the joy back into my life." he said smiling. "The party starts in a few hours. Come to 677 Dark Avenue. Our penthouse is on the top floor." he said. Esme smiled along with him. *Hag!? Little punks, I can't wait to finish them all! And my stupid husband is only addingm ore to the act.* Esme laughed inside her mind, letting Jerome do all the talking.

[Yuffie Kisaragi]

Her ears had perked up at the words free food. Yuffie was too tired to eat yesterday. And she was so darn hungry right now. Then, a bright idea hit her. The party was going to be held in this woman’s penthouse, right? And she was filthy rich? Jackpot. The Great Ninja Yuffie has won the lottery.

“Fine old man, I’ll go. You hear that ha--uh, lady! I’ll go! But you better have chocolate!” She nodded to herself, as if confirming that she made a good choice.

Sakura came up and talked to her, but ran off before she could say anything. And she hugged the hag. Ew. She spotted Elena over by the wall and strolled over to her. “Hi Lena. You going to that person’s party too?” she asked, still smirking about her ulterior motives.

[Elena Fayt]

Elena glanced at her side, seeing Yuffie. She waved hi. Slightly moving from her leaning position, she nodded. "Yeah, I'm going if you and Leon-san are." Then, she lowered her voice so Yufffie was that only one who could hear her.

"But I'm bringing something just in case." Elena glanced at her hidden guns. She smiled. Her voice back on normal volume. "Leon-san and you better come. I don't wanna be alone with everyone else there."

I think I noticed something........in typing this post and thinking about it, "Elena" (not me, the person who is playing Elena) is developing a little something for Leon.
