I wonder where they will play his single here. The station I like to listen to is only playing Christmas stuff until Dec. 26th. Guess I'll have to branch out a little.

Still waiting to hear it here in Chicago. If anyone here hears it, let me know so I can figure out which radio station to target my requests to! I'm thinking that WTMX will eventually play it. But I guess we'll have to wait and see :D

jahmom - December 11, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
Hey BonBon -

I'm figuring WTMX, Kiss-FM and possibly the Loop will play the song, so I am forever flipping back and forth. I'll let you know if I hear it anywhere!!

bonbon40 - December 12, 2005 02:19 AM (GMT)
Thanks Jackie! Give me a heads up when you hear it. bo_mic

:) I caught the tail end of a Bo interview tonight on 93.1 , they were at the Radio Music Awards show. I didn't hear any good details from Bo, But the two dj's dropped his name quite frequently throughout their broadcast. They, apparently thought he was one of the coolest peeps they interviewed all night! If only I had gotten into the car a few minutes earlier, grrrrrrr.

baxdar - December 19, 2005 04:07 AM (GMT)
Hey Sandy...that's the station that was playing him a couple of weeks ago! I haven't heard the song but that one time...maybe now that they've met him (I believe one of the people that interviewed him is the music director for the station) they will play him some more here! Keep your fingers crossed!

Hey Jackie, have you heard it at all? I'm still waiting.

jahmom - December 27, 2005 09:38 PM (GMT)
Not yet, but I am currently working on 99.9 - I posted the link to their website in the "Radio Stations Thread". They have requests every night - called "9 at 9" and you can vote for the song online. Since they stream worldwide, I posted here so we can get a lot of votes in. Who knows, it might just work!!

I've been requesting him daily on WTMX. They also stream over their website. I'll also go to 99.9. Thx.

Now that is music to my ears! I don't think Bo would have a problem w/that at all, and I sure don't. Way to go Jayhawks!

Ks95 just played The Real Thing in Minnesota on the biggest variety station in the Twin Cities. This was in there 11 am hour. I emailed them the other day.

http://www.ks95.com/
to check it out. On the left of the screen it says KS95 download store. If you go there they have a list of all the songs that are played by the hour.

Maybe we should email them and thank them

That's AWESOME news, Leslie! If I do turn on the radio, it's either to KS95 or to 1280am (The Patriot - talk radio). Biggest variety is right...80's, 90's and today! I've emailed them too in the past, and I guess it's now time to email them again...this time to thank them.

Thanks for the heads up!

leslie - January 6, 2006 02:08 PM (GMT)
Looks like they played him 3 times yesterday.

E - January 6, 2006 06:53 PM (GMT)
I have Sirius radio and it shows who the artist is even when a cd is playing. Yesterday I was driving around listening to Bo and looked down to see his name showing on my receiver. Almost wrecked the car switching from cd to radio. It was my first time hearing Bo on the radio. I felt like a proud mom!

:D Me thinks maybe we all need to do some serious searching as to where we can find that bumper sticker that says:

"Caution: Driver under the influence of Bo Bice."

We can at least say people were warned prior to approaching the driver smiley_car

I saw this posted by Jennheifer at BFB:

The Real Thing is still at 53 on the Mediabase chart, but its now over 500 spins and its been added to a station in Indianapolis.

Here's that link again to keep voting...looks like it's working! thumbsup

Great news! Those spins keep increasing, and that's great! Should be nice and ready to keep moving up when the video comes out and becomes really popular! It's nice to see him being played in some larger markets. I don't know if Minneapolis would be considered "large", but the station that Leslie has reported hearing him on is a pretty popular station here. thumbsup

Can we get bumper stickers from Cafe Press?

scarlet7 - January 8, 2006 12:38 AM (GMT)

That is a great idea for a bumper sticker.

Hey I had a dream night before last that I was at a friends house and the windows were open and I heard 'Remember Me' playing somewhere outside and I realized it was Bo on the radio. I went running around the house yelling...Bo is on the radio..everybody listen. I swear..how bizarre is that?

I haven't heard him on the radio in an awake state yet though. :(

happydance I am doing the happy dance this morning. I have been waiting to hear TRT on the radio here in DC/Maryland and nothing. I was really upset with the local station back in December when two weeks after the CD was released the morning DJs said they thought the CD was coming out in another week or that day; they weren't sure. I immediately sent them an email letting them know; rather nicely, that it was out, great and they should check it out at BoBice.com.

So I have been listening and praying they'd play it and sending my requests. Well as you all know last week, they announced plans for a concert with Bo on Feb. 19th. I just knew they would play the song when they announced it but they didn't. I asked people to help and write to the station. Many people got responses saying they were playing it already. So if they were it was in the early morning hours and I didn't know how to check because you can only see the last 10 songs played on their site. I was listening non-stop on Friday until 1am and nothing. The music director kept responding telling people he would play it during his afternoon show and give them shout outs. He even teased on Monday saying he was getting lots of emails and calls from die-hard Bo fans asking him to play it. All he said was, "but I want to know if you going to the show".

So finally yesterday someone posted on BBR that the morning DJs commented on how many requests they were getting from Bo fans; so they finally decided to do it. The poster said that she didn't get to hear because she waited 30 mintues but had to go and couldn't listen any longer. So last night I looked up the station on yes.com and sure enough they played him at 7:32am yesterday. Just my luck to have missed it by a few mintues; the few minutes that I left my car to get on the bus. They must have played it while I was waiting to get on the bus and I didn't have my headphones on.

Even though I didn't hear it, I sent a thank you email with another request to hear the song again. Well yaysmiley this morning I heard it. I just made it too. I turned on the radio this morning and one song was ending and then I heard the intro to TRT. I was so excited. I guess we finally got through to them or maybe they thought it made sense to play the music by an artist that they are actually hosting a concert for. Either way, I am excited. Congrats Bo. thumbsup

So there's my story. I had to share it with all it's history because I am so excited and I hope the airplay increases, but at least it's finally during peek hours. I figure it should increase as the concert date gets closer.

If you want to make a request, here is the station info...

Our sucky stations in Cincinnati haven't played Bo yet to my knowledge. I do know that
XM radio has him listed on the top 20 on 20 channel. You can vote for Bo, and if he gets the most votes, they will play him. HINT HINT!!

BCW - February 14, 2006 11:24 PM (GMT)
And you can vote every 5 minutes on XM radio. Just another HINT!

scarlet7 - February 22, 2006 03:45 AM (GMT)
OK I read somewhere or maybe it was my friend Susan who told me that where concerts are scheduled has something to do with where radio stations are playing Bo's CD. I am thinking that if he appeared in a certain city (like mine for instance :D) where it isn't getting much airplay, that the radio stations would get involved and start playing his CD. I am just saying that if I were booking shows for a band, I would also hit areas where they weren't getting much airplay to pull the radio stations in. Doesn't it stand to reason that if they were advertsing the concert for an area that they would start playing the CD? Sounds like a strategy to me. But they didn't ask me. <_< Ah well.

SusanFL - February 22, 2006 07:13 PM (GMT)
I think that might have been me!

I believe I read someplace that when a station adds TRT to their daytime playlists it usually means that they will think about having Bo doing a promotional appearance with that specific station. Of course, I don't remember where I read it to be able to confirm that.

Which basically means zippo for Orlando at the moment.

:(

leslie - March 4, 2006 04:13 AM (GMT)
KS95 Minneapolis
1 7 Bo Bice The Real Thing
2 2 Santana Just Feel Better (w/ Steven Tyler)
3 1 Bon Jovi Who Says You Can't Go Home
4 4 Rob Thomas Ever The Same
Also KS95 is the top station in the Hot a/c on Mediabase

I heard Bo on the radio this morning. They are not playing many songs as they are doing a radiothon this weekend But even that is not stopping them from playing TRT.

Now if we can just Bo here for a concert

kap - March 4, 2006 04:18 AM (GMT)
OK, FINE!!! <_< I will take my Bo/SM/K.Bell/Moneywasters mix CD out for ONE day so I get to hear TRT on KS95. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?? Leslie, have you heard it yet on KDWB?
