After watching Bo on Idol, and then seeing him live in person I can certainly express a preference - I loved him even more with his band.  I still consider myself a S$ fan - even if that exact group of guys is no longer together.  Some artists are just better with their bands, I felt that way about Rob Thomas when he left Third Eye Blind & I feel that way about Bo.  I think he's at his best when he's jamming with friends.

thumb.gif Absolutely could not agree with you more Jill! Bo is awesome, but with SugarMoney it was an absolutely electric performance and I just hope I get to experience it again some day! Until then, I will just have fun supporting all of them in their individual and collective musical endeavors.

This whole thing has been full circle, hasn't it? Like hearing first hand from Ronnie how hard Bo fought to keep SugarMoney with him and how hard they fought to practice and step up to the task. Ronnie said he had never been more impressed with a group of musicians than these guys, working day and night not knowing if they'd be picked up but doing it because of their love of music and their love for Bo.

And how great that they were finally picked up. Bo was getting physically sick on the road for obvious reasons. Music isn't about impressions and label decisions even though you wouldn't be able to tell that from the slick choreographed performances these days.

It's still really about heart and grit. And playing with an energy that fuels you. In the middle of the tour, I was fortunate enough to hear Bo play acoustic at my Breakfast with Bo and I couldn't have been higher. He is the ultimate pure voice, full of a magic that happens only occasionally. But it was funny - even that morning, he couldn't stop talking about joining his brothers on stage that same night.

Things change. I hate change. But I'm excited for Bo and I'm glad the amazing people who love him and held him up are finding their own paths with heart.

Change happens for a reason.

Call me naive, but I really don't think it's over. Maybe for now, but there is too much history. Unless something bad happened and I have no reason to believe anything did, I think we will be seeing them again in the future. th_1band.gif

Amen. And although change is scary because it's uncertain, it can be such a good thing. Think of it as evolution. smile.gif

A very good way to look at it, Patty. While I don't want things to change, I'm grateful for the time we did have and looking forward to seeing what happens next.

maybe I am being optimistic, because I have no reason to think otherwise, we have not even heard that S$ has split...
