I was listening to that all day yesterday on Foxnews, Sounds like a mean one to hitting gov and big bus computers, even google and others to .

FOX News largely fabricates articles related to technology, no virus I know of will break through gov't networks given its redundant security network, backup systems, and likely top-notch cryptographical authentication between machines. Civilian systems and state networks are probably more likely candidates vs. high government organizations.

Keep security software up to date, patch up your system, browse smart (I highly recommend Chrome with WOT/AdBlock), and use mail filtration/quarantine software if you use 3rd party mail clients such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.
I know you guys have seen the beginning and end of many an era, so you're all quite experienced when it comes to the web and safety - I doubt the virus will impact your systems. :D

Thanks DA. They can keep it. I have been removing windows security suite virus all week long here from others puters, and I am tired of these darn virus. All machines are clean, and all is well, with all of them, but my grandaughters, and it seems to have corrupted a file that affects her restart windows. I havent figured out, just what to do to fix it yet, because there are no error messages. Everything else is working just fine.

That will have to be of very last resort, because it isnt backed up, and she has too much on there to lose.

Cat when you got to reformat it gives you a chance to back up the files first or it does on mine,

Ya, but always a chance that something could be lost. She is going to buy an external hardrive and get them backed up in the near future, and then I guess, will be a good time to redo it all. Until then, it is usable, just a bit on the slow side.
