Bake a chocolate cake. Cool it down.

Frosting:

1/2 cup powdered cocoa (Hershey's brand...the bitter kind of chocolate)
1 box confectioners sugar or 3 3/4 cups or 16 oz weight.
1 stick margarine or butter----softened at room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract

Start the mixer on a very low setting and begin adding a little bit of evaporated milk. Begin with maybe 1/4 cup.

Put just enough for consistency.
You will have to use your judgment or preference in deciding how much milk is enough. If you over do....add some more sugar and a dab of chocolate.

For the cake I use a devils food or chocolate cake mix.
Bake in a one layer pan. I do so I don't have to make layers. sad.gif

Maggie, like Tess, want to know what milk. (Something like Carnation condensed?)

Also want to know how much confectioners sugar in box? Mine comes in a bag and holds quite a large amount.

Doh.gif Sorry about the milk. That comes from the French "dictionary."

Yes, it is the condensed milk. Any brand will do, but don't use any low fat.
When you are eating chocolate cake using low fat would be hypocritical, wouldn't it? laugh.gif laugh.gif

Cat, the box holds about three 3/4 cups so you could measure that out or weigh 16 oz on a small kitchen scale.
