Thanks all. I think he will be coming home sometime within the next week, but there will not be much of a recovery. His health has deteriorated so badly, he cant walk around by himself anymore. He will be using a walker, but, doubt, he will be able to operate even that without help. A couple weeks ago, he was still driving and doing a good job of it, and I doubt very much, whether he will ever drive again. Things have gone very much downhill for him. He has never had to use oxygen, and he will be coming home with that too. It is shocking how fast everything can change.

With hospice coming in he wont be here long, They wont even try to revive you even if they can, I know that for a fact. They stood back when my bro was dying and he was in a seizure so bad it was unreal and I took control and he stopped the seizer and he lived 5 more weeks and his son never left him except to go to work and back ,His DIL took over and they stayed with him day and night untill the end,
He really enjoyed those last 5 weeks to being with them and family
We were all there fr him to and some one asked him where did all the Robertsons come from and he laughed and said some one left the gate open and here they come , laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif He had a great sence of humor

Hubby is one stubborn person. He is already doing things for himself, so his strength is coming back pretty quickly.

You are right, they will NOT try to revive him, but its by his own request. Hubby only has part of a heart that works and that part is only working because of the pacemaker and the defibrilator, so he has it in a living will, not to do anything to bring him back, when the time comes. He has other things wrong too, and if he were revived, the chances are good, he would be only a vegetable. Right now, hospice nurse will be coming to house a couple times a week, to take his vitals, and report them to doctor office, and they will be sending someone a couple times a week, to help him in and out of the shower etc, and that time, will be for me, to go do errands, or anything else I want or need to get done. His doctor has a clinic here in town, one time a month, so the doctor is going to stop by the house and check him out first part of August (clinic is very close to us), so we dont have to make that trip to BG, again for a while. Any med ajustments will be made at that time. The most important thing is to make sure, his defib doesnt start shocking him again. He should gain as much mobility as he had before he went into the hospital, but, I doubt he will be driving anymore, but, he just might surpise everyone on that too.

Hospice is providing all the equipment we need, or will need in the future too.

Cat, I am sorry about your DH. wub.gif By way of encouragement, I want you to know about a lady who lives near me. She has been under hospice care for 15 years!!
The doctors have sent her home numerous times telling her that she had only days to live. She still lives in her house and is able to drive about one mile to the local church.
On the other hand, for my brother and sister, their time was about 2 months under hospice.
I will pray for him---and for your strength as you are caring for him. wub.gif

Thanks Maggie, Sounds like the lady is doing pretty much ok for herself, good for her. Hope she has many more years. Dont think that will be the case here though, unfortunately.
