It will get to Win welcome screen and hang up and just sit there and I had to do a hardshutdown to reboot it again and then it will ususally get off the ground and boot on up ,
Ok last night I was having a problem installing a free program and I went to see if my fire wall had blocked it and I didnt have a firewall or antivirus on here working and I had to remove the CS antivirus program and reinstall it and so far everything seems to be working ok today, But the boot up problem has been messing up for a while could that be the hd??? If so I only have a month left on the warrenty so I may need to call HP fast. Any suggestions on these things??

I had a boot up problem like you describe awhile back and did a format and reinstall and that solved it.

Have you tried to do a format on the hd to see if that solved it? Sometimes, windows files become corrupt and cause problems.

Jane right click My computer and select manage. When the box comes up have a browse through the event viewer and see if theres anything there thats happening regularly.
Also run sfc /scannow to see if that picks anything up.

Jane: I have use ccleaner for 3 years and all you have to do is run the cleaner button and delete all it finds.

After that run the issues button and you can backup what it finds or not. I never have and click on the fix button and let it fix the problem and then click on the close button.

It does a good job.

I hope this helps

David

Castlecops says UmxAgent is the tiny personal firewall main engine. If you right click on a error in event viewer, and click properties, it can give you more information on what the error is.
