I saw it was on open beta, downloaded the client, and gave it a shot. I'd been jumping from game to game, until I settled for Aion, but the game is now full of bots, gold sellers, and auto hunters (which made me give Mortal Online a try). It's not bad... but it's not that good either. Kinda reminds me of a well-polished RV.

The first 5 minutes was just me trying to figure out the controls. The next 10 was me trying to find some clothes. (I didn't realize I enter the world COMPLETELY naked... like... my bits and bobs are just hanging out there! blink.gif explains why so many guys were just standing there looking at me but not saying anything.) After finally getting myself all sorted out, I ventured out past the city gates (avoiding other men's icky parts touching me while they run into town to get clothes). Came across some wild pigs and tried hunting/taming them. Finally tamed 1, but I have no idea how to make it follow me. huh.gif Chopped a few trees and mined a few rock deposits with my issued noob tool, refined my stuff and even got attacked by an invisible pig. All in all, not bad for the first hour.

There wasn't as much lag as I heard there was. Just a lag spike every half hour or so, but I entered right after a server reboot (so I heard). I liked the variations of wood and ores you can gather and refine, and the way using your axe to gather adds to melee, but I didn't like how I couldn't switch out from 1st person view. (Maybe there's a way, but I'm too lazy to look it up.) So... for those who have tried it, how was your first moment in MO?

I found it particularly enlightening how you progressed your post from talking about male nudity to "taming pigs".
