Death-Note is a tokyo-pop novel series all about the japanese shinigami, or "god of death" who use there "death-note" (yes that's plural) to kill people and increase there own life span, but thats not all the story is about....

(spoiler warning!)
A human by the name, Light Yagami, is an ace student (yes smarter than you DS) who came across a black note book, written on the front of the note book were the words "Death-Note" in blood crimson color inside were written instructions of how 2 use the death note....sort of... the Death note belonged to a shinigami by the name, Ryuk, who got bored of his godhood, so he "droped" his death note in the mortal world, this is normaly bad because once a death note hits the ground of the mortal world, it belongs to the mortal world.

anyway Light finds the death note and he doesnt beleve itll work....so wat does he do? like the rest of us would he tries it on someone. a criminal sentenced to death already so no harm done.....but Light was wrong....read vol.1 of Death-Note to find out more

rules of the death note: 1. the human whose name is written in the note shall die.
2. the note will not take effect unless the writer has the persons name in there mind when writing his/her name in the note so that anyone else sharing the same name will not be effected.

(end of spoiler warning)

oh and if ya want add 1 death note rule to yer posts. but dunt if ya dunt want to

if you have concerns about religious issues or watever before reading this series please no that this series stopped me from....well lets just say that i have a new respect toward life and living...
any other concernes then pm me and tell me wat they r and dun worry i wont repeat anything sent to me thats personal

I don't remember exactly, but there is a rule of logic in the death note. Light tries to make a man leap off the eiffel tower, but it fails.
With a death note, you have only four chances to get a name spelled right.
That's all I remember right now.

Other rules(not all of them)
Unless otherwise written, the person whose name is written in the death note will die of a heart attack
The cause of death must be written within 40 seconds of the name
The details of death must be written in 6 minutes after the cause of death. this may be complex, as when light instigates a target to hijack a bus, see Ryuk, and jump off the speeding bus
One can put a cause of death in the death note without a name, as long as a name is filled in within one day.

The japanese DVD is available at specialty shops. it has english sub-titles and I think audio. On a much worse note, today I was at McDonalds, which is selling those hearts for charity. You know, the one's you can put your name on? Well, my mom shows me one that says death-note, so I explain why that's even worse then it sounds. It was really awkward. Like the Bears fan with the Bears Finished What Katrina Started sign awkward

close...but no...
actualy its too represent them as two complete opposites....but they are also the exact same...ill explain more when i read more books

got a few more DN rulz:

if you lose the death note or have it stolen, you will lose its ownership unless you retrieve it within 490 days

if you have traded the eye power of a god of death, you will lose the eye power as well as the memory of the death note, once you lose its ownership.at the same time, the remaining half of your life will not be restored

you may lend the death note to another person while maintaining its ownership supletting it to yet another person is possible too

the borrower of the death note will not be followed by a god of death.
the god of death always remains with the owner of the death note. also the borrower cannot trade the eyesight of the god of death

when the owner of the deathnote dies while the note is being lent, its ownership will be transferred to the person who is holding it at that time

if the deathnote is stolen and the owner is killed by the thief, its ownership will automaticly be transferred to the thief (poor thief)

when the same name is written on more than 2 death notes the note which was first filled in will take effect, regardless of the time of death

if writing the same name on more than two death notes is completed withen a 0.06-second difference, it is regarded as simultaneous; the death note will not take effect and the individual written will not die.

all are from book three

WE KNOW LEGO! WE KNOW!

And now for something completely different:

Actually the morals of what he's doing can be looked at from any variety of angles. While it may seem like "ZOMG HE'S BAD" Think for a minute. How is what he's doing wrong.

I remember reading the first chapters and thinking that the anime was better, but considering the anime's got the advantage of full colour/VAs/moozack, it's sort of only fair. >_>

The big example of Manga better then Anime:
1. Hellsing. They cut out more then half of EVERYTHING! AUGHHHHHHHHHH! But it does have the best line in anime history.
2. Akira. Okay, it's a movie. Okay, If it was just like the manga it would take like 8 hours to watch. I DON'T CARE! The movie made no sense, and Akira didn't even show up. Those organs do NOT count as Akira.

The DBZ manga is also better.

It also gives out the fact that Raditz can move at the speed of light. >_>

RADITZ, man. If he can move that fast, then they must be moving at altogether ab-frikkin-surd speeds by the end of the series...
