Clans: Rules, News, and stuff

For those of you who attended Gaming Paradise when it was still alive and remember clans, you may skip the next paragraph. I wouldn't, though, as I might hide a sword there. >_>

OK, so here's the deal. A clan is a group. They'll have their own, password-protected forum here where they can...well, I'll get to that. You can belong to one clan, and only one clan, although if you happen to get the password to another clan's subforum, you ARE allowed to spy on them. :o Sometimes, I'll run competitions between clans...more on that coming soon...and when I say "soon," I don't mean like TCP Update/Pikmin Quiz pt 2 soon, I mean actually soon.

Anyway, if you want to run a clan, make a topic and try to recruit members. Before the clan gets a subforum and becomes official, there must be 3 members (including the leader). Once a clan is official, it's recruitment topic becomes pinned. All clans must have a list of members in their subforum.

I think that's everything...so I'll start the first competition once there are at least two running clans...

Hopefully this'll do better here, since there are more members and whatnot...and of course, TGB isn't competing with TGB >_>


Updates:

•Oct 15, 2006: You now must be at least E1337 rank to have a clan. This includes E1337s, Forum Moderators, Global Moderators, Admins, and Root Admin. If you are one of the latter two, you may not cheat or edit settings of other clans via the Admin CP.

•Oct 30, 2006: Changing Clans
If you decide to leave your current clan, the clan is allowed to change the password before you may join a new clan. If they don't change it within seven (7) days...we'll yell at Dalaw to change it >_<
When leaving to make your own clan, remember that you can have clan signups without leaving your current clan. When you reach 3 members, including yourself, the clan you're leaving will acquire a new password, and you'll get a subforum.

•April 15, 2007: Member List change
The topic for clan sign-ups should have an up-to-date list of members, preferably in the first post. This is so people can see who's in the clan before joining. The member list inside the clan subforum can be used for whatever you want, and does not have to be pinned or anything. (Oh, and would one of the lols please make a sign-up topic?)

•Aug 14, 2007: E1337 was removed, so anyone can make a clan. That bothers me...

•Aug 18, 2007: Passwords replaced by permission masks. Thus, spying on opposing clans by entering their forum is against the rules of clans AND TGB...there is a rule against hacking right? I'd hate to have to disqualify any clans/see anyone banned/etc.

Wouldn't this be a little more difficult to manage, considering you're not an Admin here at TGB? (I'm assuming we're allowed to post here, this topic isn't locked.)

AI, you do have a point. He would need to have somebody like Dalaw to make the subforums for him or else it just doesn't work out...

I have Dalaw make forums and subforums. And passwords (which he'd better PM to me along with anyone else he tells).

Hmmm...can alts count as members even if the main account is in a clan or leader of a clan?

Waaaait a second... if Pickle Pickler is an admin, then that means... he has access to the Defenders forum!! =O

Yeah, but, PP can choose not to get the password for the Defenders forum. Then again...

Let's just hope for the better of the 2 for the Defenders.
