I am currently playing the Flesh Tearers 1st company. As they don't usually survive long enough to become veterans, the 1st company is more of a "battle company".

i play the blazing swords chapter, (now of course its made up and im using the chapter creation rules!!) this chapter is uniqe to all others to the fact that:
1. they only have a 1st and 10th (more appropraitly "scout") company 2. the reason for this is because they lost most of chapter except (you gussed it!) the scout and 1st company in th 9th black crusade. -------------------- the purer the light, the more grotesque the dark.

i wouldnt know about the sizes of the each company but the 1st is more larger than others and so is the scout company, but this army is also hard to play (most units being elite so cost more than normal even for space marines and so are also smaller too.) those who have the new space marine codex who might want to play this army should use the faithful unto death, and flesh over steel (minor/ major drawbakcs) as also the lost a lot of their vehicles too.

I have a small BA strike force that I've been pulling together for awhile, think I'll just use the two BfM boxes I have to buy this week paint them up and buy a captain! lol I am needing the terrain from the boxes and decided to do a tyranid army at the same time as my DW and DA armies. lol
