With a nod to Hespithe's idea, I've just had a brain wave, (by the Emeror, thast hurt lol).

How about a chapter of marines created by an incredibl old and powerful inquisitor who rescued an apothecary, and, with oaths and boons, pushed him to create a small hard hitting chapter of maines for his personal retinue?

I haven't come up with a test model yet, so please be patient biggrin.gif

the organisation of this chapter is vastly different to the codex organisation. The Inquisitor acts as chapter master, and the marines venerate him as their primarch. The apothecary in question is plagued by what he was forced to do, and has desserted the inquistor with plans to re-join his chapter, (White Consuls).

This is the foundation I've come up with, lets make this a board project, there are 500 marines in this chapter.

Names, colour schemes, and any other interesting bits of fluff are all welcome, and anybody who feels like test painting will be welcomed, and maybe I can find some way of granting a prize for the colour scheme chosen.

How does that sound?

@Hespithe, if you think I'm ripping you off, tell me, and I'll ask a mod to nuke this.

Cheers biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I honestly don't think the idea works. The idea of a chapter being created without the HLOT's consent is a no-no. We could make this like the legio b&c kind of thing, but the legio golden palace. laugh.gif The mods have a project or two in mind after MCA gets back angry.gif i will see how everyone likes it.

Thanks

Consider that Iquisitors have absolute authority when working in the service of the emperor, and that some Inquisitors are 'radical' having gone past a forgivable limit. It could be possible for one such inquisitor to have obtained the secret of processing the gene seed, and who better to make the attempt than an apothecary. Especially one who might be out of sorts with the Emperor at the moment (fallen?).

This is in no way a stolen idea, and I like it.

cool, it looks like we're rolling now biggrin.gif

As such a small and young chapter I was thinking of limiting them to only 10 suits of TDA in total. Also, another thing, as the Inquisitor would want them to remain with him, he would use vetrans as company commanders, and squad leaders, thus not having a dedicated vetran company.

Rules wise, i was thinking of limiting them to 0-1 chaplain, and 0-2 librarians. and only the captain level commanders.

What think you guys?

Well, first we need to 'complete' the storyline. (never build a theme army until you fully understand the theme - mostly why most of my armies are only half done and my head aches when I look at them)

What we have:
Radical Inquisitor (for want of a better stereotype) steals geneseed.
Fallen Apothecary works minor miracles.
Little Geno-Spliced Studs are birthed (I'd hate to see the women given this task blink.gif ).

What we need:
How much of a connection to the Astartes do we have? At the moment, none. How would they acquire all of the gear/training/vehicles/protection they need to survive?
As a fairly 'brand new' chapter, would they even have TDA? I really don't think it would meld well with the fluff, what there is of it.

What say you?

Okies, how's this?

After betraying the memories of the Battle Brothers that fell to provide the Gene-seed for the Inquisitor's "Chatper" the apothecary manages to return to the White Consuls and reports what has happened.

The White Consuls are now hunting the Inqisitor and the Marines created by him, their intentions towards the marines are unknown, but their attitude towards the Inquisitor is one of rage and vengance, wheter they turn him over to Inquisition authorities or exact justice on ther own is unclear.

The Inquisitional marines are being supplied by a forgeworld close to the Inquisitor. So far, they have a large number of the easy to build and maintain rhino APC as well as a small number of the rhino based support vehicles, ie: Predator, Razorback, and one precious Whirlwind.

So far, they do not have access to any of the jealously guarded Landraider and Landspeeder [including varients] pattern vehicles.

The Inquisitor had access to 1 suit of TDA through Inquisitorial supplies, but has not managed to create more than 10 fully operational suits.

The training of recruits was undertaken by several members of the deathwatch who were seconded to the Inquisitor. While they did not approve of the ethods they were apart of, the kill team saw it as their responsibility to ensure the survival of the Gene-seed, therefore the marines.

right, that all came off the cuff, anybody feel like either editing it, or re-writing it please, feel free, it's the only way we can get this chapter up and running

Cheers, Damo

hmm.... Sounds intresting...

Its just on the very tip of possible but not plausable but what the =][= lets go for it! laugh.gif

Just one thing to add. I think it may be cool if the Inquisitor was a real shadow like fella'. Perhaps he should be have a complete rob with a hood and walk with a cane? And maby his body should be pale and drained? Hey and maby he could have a couple of ninja like death cult assasains as his personal entourage? Just some thoughts!

Well if you don't mind Gregor I think I'll take a gander at writing it in a Novelized form. I'm going to change a few things I hope you don't mind. Just to get some Ideas in the alphabet soup! If you feel I've overstepped myself just tell me and I'll remove it.

Now for the story. For the sake of simplicity I'm going to give the Inquisitor the name of Zeca Hartus Victoren.

The Aquila class shuttle zipped quickly toward the ruined Space Marine battle barge. Inquisitor Zeca Hartus Victoren was lost in his own thoughts. He had been deemed a radical and betrayed by his colleagues. "Rubbish." Thought Zeca. "They only fear my power." "With my daemonhost I had been able to proliferate the Emperors' wrath on many an unworthy subject." "Those fools have no sense of duty at all!" Lt. Sturm approached the Inquisitor. He had been serving as a Stormtrooper under Zeca's command until Zeca was deemed excommunicate. Sturm believed the Inquisitor was noble and followed him down a path of servitude. He wish he hadn't. Zeca looked at the Lt., He still wore his green officer's jacket and baggie pants. His bionic arm rested in his pocket. Little to most peoples knowledge that arm was actually a retractable power sword. Sturm's face portrayed a man tired with living. Zeca was sure if the man had not joined the Imperial Guard he would have killed himself long ago. Times were hard on his homeworld after all.

"Inquisitor Victoren." Sturm said in a dutiful voice. "yes Lt. and please call me Zeca." Zeca replied in a old raspy voice. " We will make contact with the battle barge in approximately 5 minutes." Sturm informed the Inquisitor. "Excellent..." Zeca stood up. He rested a moment on his cane. At last his plan was finally coming into motion. Since the destruction of his Daemonhost, Zeca had had no real force he could use to counter the Emperor's enemies. He had been forced to create a new plan. So daring, many would call dangerously close to heresy if not actual heresy. "Hah!" "Heresy!" Zeca thought, "I merely have the guts to do what others do not." "My plan is simple, intercept this destroyed White Consuls battle barge before the chapter arrives and search it for geneseed." I will then use this geneseed to make a chapter to do my bidding in the Emperor's name!"

5 minutes passed. The battle barge was now visible. "The damage to the main structure is extreme my Lord!" Lt. Sturm remarked. "Perhaps we should send in the servitors only?"

"A wise decision." Zeca replied.

The Aquila docked with the battle barge. Lt. Sturm dispatched the servitors to do a preliminary sweep of the area. "Inquisitor!" Sturm exclaimed. "We are picking up a single life form!"

"Lt.Sturm come with me, we will find out who this is." The Inquisitor retorted calmly.

Zeca and Sturm made their way through the labyrinth of corridors. The battle barge was immense. It was a gothic leviathan of firepower. Zeca thought to himself "how could one defeat such a thing." "Inquisitor!, I've found him!". He should be behind this door." Zeca looked up. There was a large armored door. It read Apothecarion. Zeca's old eyes filled with glee. His life had suddenly become a lot easier. If the man trapped behind these doors was an apothecary he would be able to create space marines immediately!

Well thats all I have for now. Someone else can come along and add to it. Or I will finish it later. My hands hurt. laugh.gif

Corrected the spelling mistakes that I noticed. -H

Jax, that's awesome, and at last we have a name for our infamous Inquisitor smile.gif I have picked a few spelling mistakes but apart from that, it cool.

He he, isn't strange how these things develop? I handed nuking rights to Hespithe first, now you hand them to me biggrin.gif

I'll list the correct spelling here as I can't edit your post smile.gif
approached
excommunicate
followed
himself
preliminary
through
trapped.

They were all I could see.

Maybe we have the apothecary resisting for a while, until the Inqusitor ecides to get his medicae to attempt the creation with vat grown clones before true implantation begin. When the apothecary see what the Inquisitor is willing to risk in order to gain his co-operation he decides to aid the inquisitor until one of the new marines trains as an apothecary, then he can return to his chapter.

I think you've done an excellent job with the novelisation. If you feel you are up to it, take the best parts of the brainstorming that gets posted and add it to the story??

Cheers

Jahxius (cool name BTW), that story line is excellent. Kudos to our resident author! (you get a spell checker as a prize!) The name for the Inquisitor is great!

Ok, we know how the geneseed was acquired, and we know how an apothecary was 'enlisted'.

How were the services enticed from the apothecary? How did he return to his chapter to create our 'rivals'? And, how was the process of making new marines accomplished? Was the geneseed altered in any way, and would we even be able to do so?

okies, hows about..........

When the apotheary encountered the inquisitor he was given an ultimatum, aid the inquisitr, or watch as standard medics worked on the gene seed before being braded excommunicate tratoris, (yes, the inquisitor was going to brand the whole White conuls chapter)

After the marines were created the apothecary trained the first one in his skills. When he was confident, he slipped off the planet while the inquisitor was away. When he returned to the Chapter he informed the chapter master what had happened.

Any one else?

Alright now for part II :)

Zeca glanced at his watch. It was one of his favorite items. Made of pure gold, it had been gifted to him by the great Inquisitor Septum, whom he had completed his acolyteship under. Emblazed on the back where the words [I] Ever Vigiliant, Ever lasting [I]. Zeca had no clue what his master had ment by those words but Inqusitor Septum had told him one day he would understand. "Bah." Zeca thought to himself, The old man was excentric but what ever secret message this phrase held, it went with him to his grave. Lt.Sturm approached the Inquisitor.

"My lord the servitors are ready to open the door!" Zeca stood up. At last it had taken them no less than 5 hours of pounding away with servitors armed with powerfists to break down the door. It might have been easier using the meltagun from the Aquila's armory, however then they would run the risk of harming the geneseed when the door was blown open. The servitor turned to look at Zeca, its powerfist crackled with energy. Zeca nodded. To a normal human it would look like Zeca had repsonded to a question, but in reality Zeca had sent a command using his mind. The Servitor approached the large Adamantium door. with its flamer it melted a small hole big enough for its hands. It then pushed the door open with all its might. Lt. Sturm drew his Gwinter 5 autopistol and aimed it at the door.

The door gave way and opened. Inside was a medicae facility. Various surgical tools, and devices lay around. Zeca was stunned. There was susposed to be a lifeform in here...

"LORD VICTOREN!!!" Sturm screamed. Zeca looked up just in time to dive out of the way of a robed figure desending from the celing. The sheer size of the man identifyed him as a Space Marine. Sturm heard Zeca's voice in his head, "There can be no witnesses!" Sturm fired his autopistol at the space marine. The space marine took all of the hits, although it seemed to hinder and annoy him the marine charged forward at Sturm. Sturm, looking bewildered at the fact that his armor piercing shells had not killed the man, dropped his autopistol. He drew his arm out of his pocket. From about half way below the elbow was a boinic attachment. However he did not have a hand at the end. Sturm hit a button on his arm and a powered blade sprung out. The marine threw a punch at sturm, sturm moved out of the way just in before the marines fist made contact. Sturm tried to stab the marine in the chest, but the marine with his years of combat knew better than this and kicked Sturm in the chest.

On the otherside of the room as Sturm and the Marine continued to fight Zeca was searching for the geneseed. He knew that if Sturm did not have half the combat experiance he did he would not have survived the brutal kick the Marine delt him. Zeca had to find that geneseed. Suddenly he noticed a armored glass case. Inside it were various vials. The Genseed! Zeca ran towards it, as fast as his old legs could. He glanced around quickly and saw a security pad. "Blasted!" Zeca concentrated his thoughts. Lighting sprang from his eyes and short curcuited the control pad. The glass opened. Zeca grabed the geneseed. He sent a quick psyhcic command to the servitor and threw the case to it. The servitor grabbed the case in his powerfisted hand.

"STOP FIGHTING AT ONCE!" Zeca yelled, his voice amplifiphed by his psykic powers. Both Sturm and the Marine looked at him bewildered. Sturm was severely beaten. Judgin by his appearance Zeca noted he probably had a number of broken bones, and two of his bionic power feed supply cables had been severed.
The Marine had several gashes and cuts all over himself.

"Marine do you know what I have?" Zeca said in a playful voice. The marine looked confused, but soon relized that Zeca ment the geneseed, when he glimpsed the Servitor. "Ah so you understand?" "I understand you are an apothecary or did you just happen to put on the wrong robe?" Zeca was being cruel with his tau

It got cut off last post so heres the rest.

"What do want?" The Apothecary snarled. "Well I'm not one to beat around the bush so I'll be strait up with you marine" " Using the genseed I have captured from your chapter." " I want you to make me some space marines to do my bidding in the emperors name" Zeca explained.

" Go to hell." The Apothecary replied. " well... zeca said. Either you help me to create space marines and allow that geneseed to survive on in another marine." " Or you can try and kill me in which case my servitor will crush the geneseed." "So what are you doing to do marine?" Zeca knew from the look in the apothecaries eyes which choice he had made."

Okay so lets start brainstorming for part III

I figure the apothecary will slip away...

As for Marine training, perhaps Lt. Sturm could train them somewhat as he is a stormtrooper veteran?

Hey and perhaps at the end Zeca figures out what Ever Vigilant, Ever Lasting means and it becomes the chapters battle cry?

What else?
