I will post some common questions about RP'ing in this thread and answer them to the best of my ability. Feel free to add any pointers you have as well for some of the members who are new to the RP'ing world.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.) What does OOC stand for?

Out-of-character (OOC, adjective/adverbal form is OOCly) posts are information shared from one player to another, usually either out of courtesy or out of a need to form a consensus over the effects of in character actions. Optimally, OOC information does not affect the responses of characters or players, although it usually does.

Its converse is In-Character or IC statements, which are 'real' events that 'really' happened.

2.) What does IC stand for?

In Character (IC, adjective/adverbal form is ICly) posts represent information and actions known or performed by characters in a given storyline or roleplay. As such, this information or these actions would be known to any other characters in a position to notice them.

The converse is Out-of-Character, orOOC , which theoretically has no plotline effect.
