The beast yawned, stretching outward, unsheathing his claws slightly. The muscles beneath his dark pelt rippled, and he shook himself gently. "Hmm, I wonder, I wonder...," he thought aloud. The hybrid's voice was smooth, with a hint of darkness. One might think it almost had a touch of what seemed like liquid velvet, a handsome sound indeed, but he cared nothing of it. What he did care about was his current pride, the females, and well, himself. 'I wonder if I will ever find anyone to fight for... A mate, or cub even... But, how would I meet such a feline? Will I need to extend my search to other areas, or will I find love here?' he played over and over in his head. Neo knew that if he wanted such a person, he would have to work hard at doing so. He scanned the area around him, catching the details of the other lions. He hated standing out so much... Even in a group of misfit lions. The hybrid was not like many of the others here; he didn't have a single drop of lion blood in him, and his dark patterned fur was definitely strange... Still... In this Misfit Pride, others too had been rejected as normal, like him. Neo grinned with the thought, and decided to go and search for a love of his own. Spotting a pretty lioness, he slowly padded toward her, then spoke in a rather soft voice,"Excuse me, miss?"

( I hope someone replies. xD Anyone with a single lioness character in the MM mark will do. >> )

A sigh heaved from the ligeress's chest, her head rested between her forepaws and her tail flipping behind her in frustration. So far she had found herself in the Misfit Lands, but yet felt at a loss... Though this was a place where anyone was welcomed, for some odd reason she still felt she stuck out like a sour thumb. But of course she couldn't change herself to 'blend in' better... so she might as well learn to deal with it.

Rolling belly up, she rested her front paws on her white underbelly and her blue eyes gazed skyward. At least the blue sea of sky above her would always succeed in lifting her mood. She let her eyes flutter closed, her long whiskers twitching as her pink nose inhaled the air around her deeply, filling her lungs, before then exhaling... Such a beautiful day... She was just about to almost doze off before the sound of footfalls caused her ears to twitch and a voice caught her attention. She lifted her eyes in surprise, but however was temporarily blinded by the sun and needed to lift a paw to block it's rays. All she was able to make out was his voice for the moment, and that caused her to grow instantly timid and shy... "Uhm... Hello?" She questioned.

[Jocasta]

( Sounds good. Hitomi, right? ^.^ )

He smiled, looking down at her. The beast gave a chuckle, replying,"Why, hello..." His eyes studied her features for a few moments, leaning down slightly to get a better look. She was a rather large femme, he noticed, but didn't care much, as in his mind her beauty surpassed her size. The hybrid was completely struck with infatuation, and all he could find to say was,"What's your name?" His eyes once again slid over her form. She was laying on her back, but he could still make out most of her markings. To him, the liger was enchanting, and he couldn't seem to remove his gaze from her. "I am called Neo... And you must be... Gorgeous...," he told her with a grin. Though he wasn't much of a flirt, as he hadn't much experience with the opposite gender, he still tried his best. Embarassed, he averted his eyes, and if Neo could blush, he most likely would. After a couple of seconds he looked back at her, and patiently awaited her answer.

Rolling back onto her belly for the most part, Hitomi gave a small smile towards the male, her ears lifting a little from their submissive posture to a more curious feel. He was indeed a sight to behold... Never before had she seen anything that had marking such as his, or such stunning eyes... In some ways she felt as if she had fallen into them, lost in the vast sea of blue.

As he asked for her name, Hitomi couldn't help but snap back to reality a little, and blinked a few times as if she didn't understand. When she finally regained her senses she finally spoke. "Hitomi. It's a pleasure to meet you Neo." She said, flipping her tail behind her softly. However at his remark about gorgeous, her eyes widened a bit and she felt a rush of heat come to her face... A blush. "Oh.. T-t-thank you." She finally was able to stutter out. He truly was a charmer.

[Jocasta]

"Hitomi," he whispered, "Such a lovely name." The beast bowed his head in respect. He locked her gaze, asking simply,"Are you from around here?" Neo hadn't thought he had seen her much, but, then again, he hadn't been in the mark for very long. He himself had been born and raised in captivity, then had almost been transferred to a private zoo... But how nice it was to actually be in the wild, instead of being kept in a small, caged territory. Here he could actually roam, hunt for himself, meet others... And perhaps find a mate. His chance for the latter was looking rather good at this moment. "Myself, I was raised in a cage. I hated the small space of it, even with my mother nearby. They were going to transfer me, in a large khaki van, and, as they opened my cage I took my chance to escape and ran as fast as I could. Just remembering that day makes me think how lucky I was to get free...," the hybrid recalled.

(Kinda short post... Headache's killing me so I can't think straight...)

[Lucine]

((Oh noes! D: Go get some rest, I hope you feel better soon!))

Hitomi's eyes lowered as she smiled softly at the comment at her name... never before had she been flattered as such. He was such a charming, and such a handsome creature... She didn't expect this in the least. Her ears twitched at the question of her being from around here, and she nodded a little. "I found my way here through wandering." She said, letting her heavy tail flip down onto the ground.

As Neo spoke of his past, old memories flooded into the liger's head and she sighed softly. "I understand how you feel. I've had a similar past to that..." she huffed before setting her head down onto her paws. "Humans can be such cruel and disgusting creatures."

Though she lifted her eyes up to him, retaining the small smile she had. "But... I'm glad we were both able to escape from their clutches."

[Jocasta]

(Thanks. ^.^ I feel much better now after about 12 hours of sleep. x3)

He nodded, agreeing with her words. The beast's blue hues met hers, and he couldn't help but gaze into their endless beauty... "They can be horrible, ruthless, and uncaring. But I suppose they aren't all that bad. After all, they allowed me to meet such a lovely creature as yourself," he smiled at her, "And in a way, that all makes it seem worthwhile. What we experience in the past tends to alter future for the better, if we let it." He flicked his long, fluffy, cheetah-like tail, enjoying her presence. 'We have both been through such intolerable situations with humans...,' the hybrid thought silently. She was like him. Hitomi had been caged, too. And they both had experienced things that many raised in the wild would not know, let alone understand.

Neo broke into a grin, and then, reminded of his hunger by his noisy stomach, inquired,"Well, milady, would you care to join me in a hunting party?" The growling of hunger had embarrassed him a tad, but that didn't stop him from asking her.

Hitomi smiled before nodding, pushing herself up to her four before shaking out her pelt a little. She giggled when she heard the rumble of his stomach and shook her head a little. "Of course, I wouldn't mind a hunt, especially since you're hungry." She said, looking towards him before extending her paws out in front of her and letting her back arch in a stretch, showing off her pelt a little in the process. She took the chance to look him over a little more... he was so handsome and nothing like she had ever seen before... She couldn't help but want to flirt with him, and seeing as how seemed to understand how she felt and they had a lot in common... It gave her a sense of comfort around him.

Flipping her tail, she steadied herself once again, taking a deep breath. "Ready when ever you are." she said, smiling happily.

[Jocasta]

"Good," Neo grinned. "Come with me, then." He continued to beam at her. She was like a goddess... The perfect example of a femme. Pacing toward the destination, he began to speed up slightly, yet allowing her to catch up. He saw her next to him, and without thinking about it, his paws began to go faster and faster, leading him forth. The beast swore to him it was like running on air and perhaps he was, beginning to reach around 50 mph. Neo made sure she wasn't falling behind, slowing down a bit. "A bit fast for you?" he inquired. "If you want I could always go a tad slower for you. I'm just used running, but if you need I'll walk. Just the cheetah blood in me, I'm afraid." His gate became more leisurely in pace, and Neo seemed to drift along next to her. Finally, they approached the hunting area. "We have arrived, milady."

[Lucine]

Hitomi grinned and followed alongside, her eyes falling to the ground her paws were on. As he began to speed up though, she did her best to keep up. Though, as she saw him continue to go faster... and faster, her ears flattened back and she began to pick up speed as well... Though nothing near his. Because of her sheer size it was difficult for her to keep pace with him, but she did her best, though she fell behind.

She laughed, panting a little as he slowed. "I can tell. Sadly I don't have cheetah in me... I've got Tiger and Lion." she giggled a little before her pink nose caught the scent of prey in the not to far distance. It made her own stomach rumble a bit at the thought of food. "Thank you." she said, looking to him happily.

She grinned playfully though and bounded forward, "Let's see who can catch a meal first." She said, flipping her tail behind her as she trotted ahead.

[Jocasta]

( The hunt is on! x3 Hitomi can hunt too while he's doing this... You can decide whoever wins! )

He chuckled. "And what shall the winner receive?" he asked, in good spirits. Neo padded beside her, then began to make a slight space between them, spotting a gazelle nearby. A smile spread across his face,"Perhaps whoever catches one first decides, hmm?" Instantly, he dropped into a crouch, the hunter's instinct inside him urging the hybrid to creep forward with silent steps. His form slipped into a patch of long, savanna grass surrounding his prey, unsheathing his sharp claws.

Coming closer and closer until... Strong back legs launched the beast, his voice quiet as Neo leaped at the gazelle, the dark pelted hybrid getting near to the prey's skin. Talons sunk into soft flesh, clinging for dear life. Powerful jaws sunk into the gazelle's spine, pushing downward with his paws. It groaned in agony as it hit the ground, and the beast quickly dispatched his kill. Grabbing his loot, Neo dragged its carcass, still warm, to where Hitomi waited, laying the gazelle in front of him.

Hitomi grinned as she saw him agree to the hunt, and as he questioned at what the winner would receive she shrugged her shoulders and padded forward a little more. "Perhaps..." As he departed she flicked her tail before then letting her blue eyes scan the surroundings. She wasn't much of a hunter of speed or stalking like him, she preferred to use her brute force in the struggle.

Licking her chops her gaze settled on a wildibeast she rolled her shoulders and hunkerd down ever so slightly... and only crept up forward enough to just get within distance. Because of her odd scent, she wasn't exactly the thing that the creatures had learned to fear... So it worked as an advantage most of the time.

Hitomi burst from the shrubs and with a loud roar startled her prey, however, it faltered and stumbled a bit on it's feet. She took the opportunity to let her bulk strike it in the side, knocking the wind from it's lungs and knocking it on it's side. With unsheathed claws she planted one heavy paw on it's flank and let the other set on the side of the animals neck. Before it even had a chance to struggle more, she placed her broad jaws around the back of it's neck and with a shake of her head a loud snap was heard. The wildibeast went limp and she turned her attention to dragging it back into the area where she had started the bet.

However, she returned to find Neo already dropping his kill at his paws. With a light roll of her eyes she giggled and did the same, licking her chops clean before tilting her head. "So... I suppose you won?" she asked, seating herself down on her rump.

[Jocasta]

He smiled at her and replied,"Ah, but your catch is larger. How about we call it a tie?" The beast chuckled, then his sight captured something red its gaze. 'Hmm, what's this?' he thought, then stepping closer to it, added,'How strange... I've never seen anything like this before. It's beautiful... Though not quite as lovely as Hitomi.' Neo nearly blushed at the thought. 'But should I pick it, to show to her? It is an odd sample of such a plant...'

Agreeing to pick it, the hybrid leaned down grabbing the bright scarlet flowers, two of them on the same stem, and gently plucked them. They were a medium sized pair of flowers, more red the sun at the end of a sunset. Pollen was on three stalks in the middle of them, and it was gold like the savanna grass about them. And the stem and leaves were by far the strangest of all of the plants' features. They were smooth and long, the leaves thin like paper, much like a tulip's. He padded over to Hitomi, bringing the flower closer to her. "And here...," he said, placing the plant at her feet,"...Is your prize."

Hitomi smiled and had lowered her head to begin her meal... She hadn't minded at all if it was a tie, and was now concerned in filling her belly. However though, just as she was about to sink her teeth into the fresh meal, her ears twitched at his voice and she lifted her eyes up to him. She watched as he placed the plants at her paws and felt a familiar rush of heat across her face. She looked down at the flowers and shuffled her paws softly, before her eyes lifted back up towards him. "But... I didn't win, we both agreed it was a tie." She said, softly. The flowers were so beautiful, she had never before seen a plant such as that... She was in awe of them, and touched at the gift.

[Jocasta]

Neo smiled at her reaction. "You may not have won the hunt, but in the short time I have known you, you have won my heart," he said softly. "Hitomi, I have never, in all my years, met anyone like you. As soon as I gazed upon you, I know I was hooked. And, well, I want you to know that I like you. A lot." The words he spoke took all the courage he had within him. He wasn't fully in love with her, yet. But the hybrid knew if they could actually get to know each other, one day he could care for Hitomi with every inch of his soul, heart and all. The beast was a bit hesitant to spill everything on his mind to her, but decided to keep it simple,"When I first saw you... I didn't think you were just a female. I thought you were a goddess. You have captivated me entirely. And that is why I have offered you this flower, because it is as unique as you, yet it isn't quite as perfect. And no one, or anything, could possibly like you." Neo hesitated, looking into wondering if she felt the same. "And I would anything, everything for you. For your...," he paused,"...Love."
