It brings home the point of going through the same time interval over and over. Since the characters are of the same mind, they have fragments of the previous runs of that interval. I saw a Star Trek TNG episode that did the same thing, with similar results.

Yes but they didn't string the whole time loop thing over numerous episodes and thus, making it much easier to watch. Haruhi has done this. what, 4 or 5 episodes now? And since its "Endless Eight", I'm assuming they're going to do this for a whole 8 episodes before they get anywhere important.

I just watched # 16 and more of the same, but the scenes were done differently. I'll tell you when to start watching again or We are just so desperate for a new season that we'll watch anything to get the fix.

Of course of if you flip eight over you'll get infinity, I heard that they only ordered 6 repeat episodes; this is going to be important I think after seeing what Kyon was doing in the scenes. This is not a perfect time loop, the Integrated Data Entity remains unchanged, therefore data is not being destroyed as the loop reverts. The closer anyone to Yuki would seem to notice the loop faster, since she is constant. Kyon would have these feelings faster than Mikuru can and that is my reasoning. Kyon will have the solution I think in the next episode that would involve "eight", plane, infinity, and something with Yuki (a certain one sided object.). I have not read the novels after one, but that is my gut feeling.
