No, thats not the reason, the reason is that it doesnt apeal to everyone like the older games, the older games were always different and offered somehthing (noticably) new each time.

I hate 7 because I want to murder Cloud every time he opens his mouth. As well as Sephiroth. And many other characters.

I feel outnumbered here. But the materia system was original! Doesn't beat FF6, but its still a good game.

I found the materia cool, and even the gameplay. But the characters bugged me wwwaaayyyyyyyyyy too much for me to enjoy the game haha. And the story didn't really impress me too much. But my beef is mainly with the characters. I want to decapitate Cloud every time he opens with worthless mouth and I want to kick Sephiroth 10 times in the shin every time he flaps his stupid yap. (I send my apolagies out to any Cloud and Sephiroth fans, I'm just venting )

BUSHIDO BLADE! *Turns into a furious monster* That game IS fun... I just have bad memories. REALLY bad memories. Fighting, doing grrreat... Who did I use... Hmmm... Oh yeah, that dorky little dude. Anyway, I'd be fighting along, an dthen BAM "YOU HAVE FOUGHT DISHONORABLY." And I had to start from the beginning. It took me weeks to get a lousy normal ending. And I've only gotten a normal ending with one person, and not even my favorite character.
