Exec Meeting, 11/03/09 (WEEK TEN)

Apologies: Matt Wooden (Publicity) & Sarah Murrey (Raids)
Unexplained absences: None

Comic Relief – Andy:
The Comic Relief Quiz is to start at half 7, could volunteers turn up for half 6?
The quiz will only be an hour and a half, so some rounds will be cut – Comic Relief round added.

We will be ‘competing’ against someone walking on broken glass in the Chaplaincy.
Andy still needs to check up on a few details, when the night starts and who is running the night. Problems with contacting Viv.

Volunteers who put their hand up: Mark, Chris, Anna and Adam (I’m 99% sure that’s who raised their mits, if any of you guys didn’t – sorry! Email me and I’ll tell Andy, also if anyone does want to volunteer, like-wise, email me)

RAG Baby – Holly:
The sponsor of RAG bay is to continue, its £15 and all letters and information can be found in the RAG office.

Cloakroom – Mark:
Mark needs to send out a email before Easter stating the hunt for a new Cloakroom manager, however the votes will not take place till two weeks into next term

Anna: Is Alex happy to do Cloakroom till then?

Alex will be doing Cloak room for the first two weeks of next term; the Cloakroom router is already done. Alex will need exec support for Cloakroom, and the new manager may have to be dropped right into it.

Anna/Andy: When will we be voting on new Raid coordinator?

Decided we will wait for Sarah before we re-open nominations.

Vice President – Mark:
Who will act as Vice President?
Andy and Anna ran for position, vote taken and RPS (Rock, Paper, Scissors) won, but decided a coin toss was more efficient and fair.

Anna won.

Dial-a-Cake – Holly:
Dial-a-Cake to be mentioned in an email this week, will it be happening in the first week?

Andy: Would week 4 or 5 be more appropriate? More time for publicity

The event will be running for one day, and Multiple Sclerosis does not need to be involved, any particular charity?

After talks about dates of exams and levels of interest, decided the Dial-a-Cake will commence on week 5 of term 2

Mark: Will the street team be appropriate?
Adam: Kitchen tours a good resource.

Decided we will wait for Matt before kitchen tours are organized.
Something for the summer? – Holly:
There will be no ‘Big Easy’ this year, ideas for a summer term event?

Andy: Lucy suggested Band Soc involvement? A live band performance? Outside.
Anna to talk to Nikki

Anna & Chris: Anna and Chris are both exec members of Band Soc and will investigate. They [Band Soc] are happy to organize and give profits to RAG; they may however require RAG members’ assistance.

How will it be set up? Will there be a stage?
Stu: Searched for a stage, but was only able to find small stage

Richard: Could we do it without a stage? (Sorry Rich if you didn’t say this, not sure if my note was correct)
Adam: Not appropriate with a large amount of people, if it gets busy etc.

Nat: Could we link this with Guitar Hero idea?
Holly: Probably not, as it will be an outdoor event.

Holly: Contact Performance society/people: jugglers etc. to be part of the event

The event will be held in week 8, to avoid clash with WUSAF.

Still need stage and location.

AOB

Cancer Research - Holly: Cancer research UK have contacted her about an event in which a person (this time aimed at student) teaches someone else a skill (e.g. instrument) and the proceeds going to Cancer Research.
This is not exclusively RAG

Possibility of a trade off; with both teachers giving money to charity?
Andy will talk to performance soc.

Holly: Has posted a questionnaire on Facebook

The event is across universitys and will hopefully involve lecturers as well – again, not RAG organized

Next Term Social – Nat: Social for early next term.
Pub Golf, Wednesday, Week 2.

No Tins on Bar – Andy: Tins for bar, especially in new union.
Charities to be changed term-ly: ideas for charities?
Adam: KidsCan
Megs: Coventry Refugees

Local Charities preferred. Anna is to be in charge of tins.

New Stuff – Megs:
Chance to buy new RAG merchandise: list of items available from Megan.
5,000 RAG pens, standard 9p pens chosen.

Quiz Next Term – Andy: Needs to borrow a laptop on campus; will need to install a Quiz thing onto laptop.

Dropbox – Chris: GET DROPBOX PROGRAMME… If you’re reading these minutes from the dropbox, well done! Contact Chris if there’s any problems.

Macro-Card – Andy: Megs to apply for macro card; cheaper for RAG.

Non-Rag Collections – Anna: If someone else is collecting with buckets and Anna is not nearby, check:
Sealed and named
Secure
No past charity stickers/covers/wraps on buckets
The right wrap is securely on.

If in doubt, wait for Anna.

Guitar Hero: Anna: Joint venture with Rock Soc.
Event to be fully organized when Matt is present.
