For now, this thread is private for Deadlock. But, will be opened up for Indris + everyone else to join in, later on. Set January 10th. :] If the post is a bit choppy, it's because my brother kept interrupting me.

The deep offset navy of night began to slowly lighten upward in the east, the crystalline stars slowly fading into the crisp pale blue of day, as dawn failed to linger beneath the horizon any longer. The infectious light of morning crept across the rolls and curves of the valley floor, casting shadows and silhouettes of naked trees reaching for the promised safety of retreating night. Given the position of the den, Radar had thoughtfully found for the pallid archangel, a patterned array of constellations from such trees cast itself upon her neatly carpeted porch, with those cadmium spheres bearing witness to such an awakening – as always.

However, on the eve of this morning there had been a perpetual change that left her night incredibly long and exhausting to say the least. With her headpiece nestled comfortably on crossed forepaws, Siaqi’s bodice was curled protectively around a stomach still swollen from the time, but empty nevertheless on both counts. And curled in the thickly furred nestle, by exposed and willing teats, where the three pups of Siaqi and Deadlock Phase. For once, all three had survived the first part of struggling into this world, and as if recognising such achievement and with a past incident still fresh in her mind, those eyes never seemed to leave the three shifting bundles for long.

Just looking at the latest addition of her family took all the empty feelings of confusion, grief and turmoil too many of them had been feeling as of late away, replacing it instead with a contentedness only true innocence could provide. But, even through those exhausted pools, completely drained physically and emotionally, there was still that creeping burn of a promise in her mind. Frequently, and at this time in particular, she would look toward the horizon as if expecting the two dark forms of her two boys coming to greet her in this wonderful occasion, as she blantantly refused to name their children without them both present.

With the ruffle of the lightest colours, a slim torn muzzle rotated away from the opening of the den, with eyes befalling upon the subtlest movements of the three. She was desperately tired, but wilfully refused to let exhaustion sweep over her and sleep, just yet. They had to be here first, because she’d never let anything happen to this litter - no, not like last time.

Wow. I am slow. So sorry, Jessalicious. :( (Hehe. Random nickname for Jess!)

He couldn't say why he knew that they were being born. In all actuality, before he arrived, he hadn't been sure why he was going to Gold Moon Forest. Sure, he had told Siaqi he would visit, and she was due soon, but he hadn't realized that there would be squirming newborns when he arrived. The male wouldn't even allow himself to comprehend that the weird smell he caught when approaching his mate's - was he allowed to call her that again? - den meant that she had given birth. There was a defined smell, after all, to the smell of new life... and of puppies. His tail flicked a little bit and he paused before he got too close, his tongue flicking out, running across his lips nervously. What should he do? He knew she was there, she had to be, the smell of her was too strong...

"Siaqi...?" Tobin - Deadlock, whatever - called into the mouth of the den, a bit hesitantly. He was caught in a weird spot and he didn't know what to do further than that. Because his brain was catching up, and it recognized that there were children in there. That she had given birth and he was there for it. Males didn't just waltz down into the birthing den, he knew that for a fact. Some females were lethally protective and he was rather fond of his life. Yes, he would like very much to keep his throat, too. So the beta of Nova Mountain stood outside of Siaqi Jlyha's den, hopefully waiting for her response.
