Title: Questions about a movie

CJHill - August 21, 2006 12:41 AM (GMT)
So, I watched part of the movie "Signs" tonight.

I missed the beginning, so if anyone has seen it, could you give me a quick run down? I'm interested in the beginning, but I'm also interested in an over-all opinion of the movie.

Any takers?

I don't remember too much about the beginning, just that his wife had died. In fact, I get the whole movie mixed up with the also not-so-memorable remake of War of the Worlds. Overall, I thought it a bit questionable that these advanced aliens required patterns mushed in corn fields to coordinate their attack. I also thought their choice of planet a bit questionable, all things considered. And that they didn't have any sort of waterproof armor, given the previous point. And I want to know what would happen if one of them ate a watermelon.

I've seen it - and really don't remember much at all about it. Isn't that sad? I also don't remember The Sixth Sense. Is it my age, dya reckon?

What I got from "Signs" was sort of a mish-mash of stories. There was the one about the aliens invading, which had the problems Paloma mentioned, and then there was the story about the Mel Gibson character and his loss of faith due to his wife's death.

I'm not sure what to say about any of it. There were some tense moments but, too much confusion? I'm not at all sure.
