So, to answer your question - yes, a physical exam at the ER would happen. In fact, she would probably arrive via ambulance, on a backboard. They would check for the entry/exit wounds, broken bones, muscle damage and they would do blood work. You're looking at x-rays, CT scans, MRI's. Even is she was as lucky as you say, they would still do the tests to be on the safe side.
