I've been doing a bit of photography over the holidays, my mums boyfriend is a photographer in america so he's been teaching me (and he got me a camera!)
So i've been playing around with my Sony a100. Apparently not that many people shoot with Sonys...but i like it (maybe coz its all i know lol).

Discovered that I love macro lenses, and messing around with the WB. still getting the hang of shutter speed but i love that i don't have to use flash to take a photo at night.

Unfortunatly i'm at my grandma's house and dont have my photos with me. i'll post that half decent ones when i get home.

Well thats over. This is what was said to me on the holidays by the 'boyfriend':
"I'm giving you the camera"
"You'll take amazing photos in France"

"Oh, can I have the camera back? I'll send it over again, don't worry"

Three months later.

Not a word.
Fuck! I actually really, really enjoyed taking those stupid photos.

I'm sorry to hear it. You can still post some of your old ones or just work with a basic camera (if you have one) and try to focus more on frame/composition...and later the other aspects when you have a newer camera.

Thanks, Lilian. I had always wanted some kind of artistic ability, but I really couldn't manage to play an instrument or draw very well. Photography doesn't take much natural talent, I suppose.

Los Angeles, CA.

Madre By Maria Guardado (pictured above)

Te he buscado por barrancas

LIBERTAD! LIBERTAD! LIBERTAD!

Photography requires a talent for composing the shot and knowing what will look good, plus technical knowledge of how to produce different effects. It definitely is an art. Don't belittle yourself!
