These spells make an attack against characters when they begin their turn adjacent to the caster, enter a space adjacent to the caster, or the caster moves into a space adjacent to them. This brings up a few questions.

Does this spell target allies?

If someone is pushed past the caster (through adjacent squares), they will be attacked at least three times (more if the caster is bigger than Medium size). Is this intentional?

A group could theoretically push a target through the cloud of steel shards over and over again during the course of a single round, resulting a large number of hits (in D&D 4th edition, this tactic is known as Murder Pinball and is one of the few tactics that can rack up decent damage fast.). Is this intentional?

The caster could theoretically walk in circles around a target, potentially taking attacks of opportunity but launching an attack with each square moved. Is this intentional?

Yes. The description says any creature, as the caster has minimal control over the blades themselves, boyond actually moving.

Note, since all squares are 4 ft. regardless of size, creatures generally fit into a single square regardless of size. Creatures that are bigger than this would have the Long, Tall, and/or Wide traits which double their size in a certain direction (or, for a few exceptional cases, maybe extra Long, Tall, and/or Wide to triple the size).

This means that generally, the maximum number of squares a character can be pushed through would be three (with Long, Wide, and/or Tall creatures getting an additional square along the appropriate direction). However, the characters pushing would also take damage from the spell as well.

Yes, although AoOs apply. Larger creatures are harder to push using Grapple and Bull-Rush, while smaller creatures are harder to grab in the first place due to their high Defense, but this aside, the tactic is reasonable.

Yes. The spell states that whenever the creature moves into a square adjacent to a creature. Remember that this includes allies as well as enemies, so it is unlikely that such a caster would get much front line support using this tactic, and generally, because they are adjacent, allies with ranged attacks (including spells) would get a -4 to attack rolls unless those characters have the Precise Shot feat.

I hope this answers your questions adequately. As a word of advice, however, because of the large number of potential attacks from such tactics, you should probably forewarn the GM and other players about this tactic, lest combat be reduced to a crawl. You might want to speed this up by having the blades take 10 on attacks and deal average damage per attack.
