4ed edition isn't for anyone, they promissed fluf in the post edition but al we got was crunch, stale cruch at that.
To me dnd and roleplaying games in general was i want do do this rolls adds if it is there the bonus compares and thats it. no minatures and a fight scene at most took 15 mintes. 4ed only takes you 1 hour if you lucky, with all the unneasary bonusses and imposible to play if you haven't had any minatures around. And to be honest it is easier to make a campaign more high magical and dangerous then it is to tune it down Even worse 1ste level feels like a epic encounter and goes against mine kind of play, to me and my gaming group adventures are nothing but normal people tired of there normal live and picked up a sword, axe, bow or wand to escape it. People like canon the barbarian and Legolass you want to play does...start at level 10 and beyond. But low level play was more fun, dangerous and at the end rewarding not to mention quick. So what is it about my 3ed edition? It is less epic, (hopefully) easier, quicker to play, away with core system and more zelda, and create your pc's, and no miniatures needed -------- The System For startes I noticed a lot of crap about abilitie scores having a score less then 12 these days is considered a weakling. Even worse roleplaying has taken a second seat in this not to mention Looks. So in that regard the system drops abilitie scores...or does it. What you get in return are Karma points, and no you don't roll for them you just get them. with each point you can build your chakter in somthing unique. A normal Hylian gets the following 3 Power 3 Wisdom 3 Courage Power: Stands for ..yes power in away it stands for strength but nor only physical but mental as well. The Points allow you to grow in physical size and mass, make your spells more overpowering, increase your stamina, grow bigger horns, ect ect Wisdom: Stands for skill. What is Power without the skills to back it up. martial skills, magical skills, knowledge, ect Courage: Bravery is dangerous the border between a fool and a hero is tin at best. In this regard Courage stands for Instinct, Trickery, Survival and Social Skills. Beaity, uglyness, Luck ect ------ For most Encounters Hart Points: each level your chakter gets an extra hart point to its score, each hp is worth 4. while most classes take damage normally, fighting classes only take half damage, while weaker classes like wizzrobs take double damage. Life Force: Life Force stands for Stamia and both works on mundane task aswell as magical. A chakter trying to do a heavy task like raging or running, lifting beyond its normal reach has to spend Life Force Points in this task a stronger class only spends half the points while a weaker like a wizzrob spents double. On the otherhand if spells are concerned the roles are reversed--Like with Hart Points each level adds a extra Life Force Point to its score. Attack: to I need to explain this? It increasses with 1 point each two levels. But can grow to 1 point each level or in between with some classes. Defence to I need to explain this? It increasses with 1 point each two levels. But can grow to 1 point each level or in between with some classes. more coming soon.. -------------------- ![]() |

Sounds a bit like the Tri-Stat system to me, Ouro. You should look into it, it's the system behind Big Eyes Small Mouth (BESM) and well known for anime like gameplay where the stats are simple and the description is more important.
The core of the system - hence the moniker Tri-Stat - is a triangle of stats based on the Body, the Mind, and the Soul. These could easily be replaced with Power, Wisdom, and Courage, respectively. You use points to allocate stats to these, and there are also certain derived statistics that come from the average of two scores. Body & Soul = Health (or Heart Points) Mind & Soul = Energy (or Magic Points) I can't quite remember what Body & Mind represented - I think is was for skills. Finally, you could allocate remaining character points to any other aspect of the character, in a fairly free-form system, be it spellcasting abilities, a BFS, oe some form of giant transforming robot, as per the genre. Tri-Stat - might be worth looking into for more your style of game, Ouro. It's good if all the players involved are budding games designers and willing to put their creativity into character design. -------------------- Lead of the Legend of Zelda Roleplaying Game.
