Hello ! I am currently DMing/Playing in a Full Fledged Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Campaign (We are going from the Time Navi Summons us to the Restoration of Hyrule) , we are currently Battling the Horrors of the Deku tree ,and looking through the Zelda D20 Items , I haven't found what the Sage's Medallions do . They play a 'large' part in the story : Making link more powerful and to fight with the full power of the sage . I was just wondering if anyone has made The Medallions into actual Artifacts/Magic Items , so that I could use them in my Campaign .

I also am curious to what the Fairy Ocarina does , and although you suggest that The Ocarina of Time Being filled with enchantments , I was wondering if there was another version of the item , such as : DC (35) Perform check to Teleport to Forest Temple . Since the Fairy Ocarina has the word 'Fairy' in it I am wondering would this mean that with a proper DC Perform check it would be able to replicate Light and Forest Magic (The Types of Magic that the Fairies and their Kokiri Companions most likely use )?

One Last Inquiry : Is there a Sage Template ? Would this be Equivalent to the Saint Template Found within the Book of Exalted Deeds ?

If I were to give the medallions actual abilities, I'd make each one a battery of MP of its element that recharges daily. If you have a medallion, you can cast off a list of spells that gets bigger as you increase in level regardless of your actual casting ability. If you are a mage already, you get a caster level boost of 2 or 3 with the appropriate element. Alternatively, if I was lazy I'd just give the PC a Sphere (package of scaling SLAs + one supernatural ability, from another set of d20 house rules, can cast each one either once or three times per day once) vaguely appropriate to the element. Here's the Fire sphere:

Fire
Special: You gain the [Fire] subtype.
Level – Benefit
1 – fireball
3 – scorching ray
5 – fire trap
7 – wall of fire
9 – fire shield
11 – incendiary cloud
13 – blackfire (CArc)
15 – fire seeds
17 – meteor swarm
19 – flame strike (this ability can be used as an Immediate action).

------------

Don't remember the ocarina stats very clearly, so I can't help you with that right now. I would assume the name comes more from the person that made it than any special powers it might possess. I would have just made it a regular or masterwork instrument that reduced the DC of performances that established telepathic communication with its creator.

I'd recommend taking a look at the performances a ways down the page here: http://z12.invisionfree.com/Zelda_RPG/inde...?showtopic=3232

I would model the fast travel songs by making things learned in-game which do not consume a feat and activate a preset Word of Recall spell or something similar. Maybe say that the travel process still takes time, but a higher Perform result makes you get to the destination faster.

-----------

I recall seeing something in the original PDF at least. It was supposed to model things like the Deku Tree and Valoo, though. Personally, I'd just make sure that Sages had a bunch of mage levels in addition to whatever else they were.

The medallions simply give their owner access to the aspect as if they had the relevent Talent feat, and give the owner bonus MP of that pool to use.

The Ocarina of Time provides a bonus to Perform skill checks for Performances - it's the actual Performances that provide the magical abilities that we see in the games.

There is not currently a Sage template, as each Sage is a fully fledged NPC, and has stats listed accordingly.

This is all fairly ad-hoc however, as these are all aspects that have yet to be covered in the revision.
