Again, I love The Daily Plate! They let me eat lots of calories. I hate super low cal diets. I feel that a diet with very low calories would be VERY bad for us. We already have metabolism problems... don't need more!
Thanks for posting the Daily Plate website Jo. I highly recommend it. Especially with the iPhone application.
Each day I have been under my daily allotment of calories. Today I even went to RED LOBSTER for lunch! I had a big piece of grilled haddock (they know how to cook it), asparagus, salad and I even had a cheese biscuit! All entered into the daily plate.
This afternoon I am going to a bit of a family reunion. Cake and stuff like that. Yuck. I am SO glad I don't like sweets. Now if they had nachos I would be in trouble. Luckily my hubbies family likes sweets.
I am taking my water bottle with sliced lemon. And taking my HC before I go! They will pressure me to have cake but it is easy to say no.
Pork tenderloin tonight with broccoli. Lean and green is the way to go!
I will have a weight loss to report on Monday! (0)
Off to the in-laws...
Anne
Day 7 - Going to the in-laws took a lot out of me. My Father-in-law has very advanced lymphoma. He is not doing well. It is effecting his face and neck and eye with a large tumor. Some of his daughters were seeing him for the first time in many months and they were very upset.
We got home at 7:30 and I forced myself to make dinner. Too many thoughts racing through my head. You know... trying to think of a way to help someone who is beyond help. It tired me right out. That was Saturday.
On Sunday I felt like I had been hit by a brick wall. Took 10 mg extra HC. I now have a cold and worry I gave my father-in-law a cold. I hope not. I don't think he would survive it.
So I am worn out. I don't have a headache so this can't be the flu.
I am sticking to my diet. Hydration and chicken soup are my things right now. Yesterday I made Ham and black-eyed pea soup with a hearty tomato and vegetable broth. Lots of garlic and red pepper flakes. I was surprised I could eat so much of it and stay on my plan. I think the key is the amount of broth. There are so few calories there. And the only fat came from the ham, which I trimmed very well.
I'm adding 5 mg to each dose of HC today. That will give me 45 mg instead of 30.
I've decided to make note of my weight on Mondays. I started at 230 last Tuesday morning. This morning I am 227. ^db^ And this with TONS of salt. I think leading up to this cold I have needed extra salt. So I feel pretty confident that I lost three pounds of fat.
My weekly report on The Daily Plate shows that I was under my allotted calories every day. There is also a neat graph each day that shows where my calories came from. For example 9% of yesterday's calories came from 8 oz of apple cider! What a waste of calories! I would have done better to have water or skim milk. So that is a nice learning tool. 17% of my calories came from black-eyed peas. That is a good source of calories. On Saturday...I mentioned we went to Red Lobster.. well.. 18% of my Saturday calories came from their cheddar biscuits!!
Time for snack! Chicken with rice soup with diced tomato and red pepper flakes added. It's an experiment.
Anne
I have some chicken and rice soup...been trying to think of something for lunch...thanks for the reminder!
Sorry about your FIL...that is hard on everyone, especially those who had not been with him on a more constant basis...it seems to be more of a shock to see how sick they are.
Take care of that cold. And 3 lbs. is a good weight loss. (0)
