The doctor that said that you can't have Addison's with your cortisol numbers is full of hooey. "Adrenal Fatigue" is an odd phrase for a traditional doc to use. What sort of doctor was he? I have secondary AI. My baseline cortisol was 3.5 and I stimmed to 14.4. I felt like death warmed over. I could barely function before starting on HC.

Shelly, I with love to access the nc support group but every time I click on email support group I get an error, something about email client. If I could only hook up with someone in nc that has lots of experience with adrenal issues. Tired of hearing "never seen someone with high bp have adrenal issues" My guess, every endo is going to say they can treat adrenal issues, but I am the oddball, I really need someone that knows what they are doing. I need to get better so I can go back to work. One of the guides or links I clicked on showed lots of endos at Presbyterian, but did not show adrenal issues as a specialty.

in order to email the support group you need to use outlook express for your email. If you don't have that you might need to install it to use it for this one email. That's what I think is the problem. Good luck...
Oh and endos really don't list addisons disease as a specialty because about 90% of an endos business is diabetes so that's why. What you want to find is an endo or even a GP that wants to learn and WORK WITH you.... it is going to be extremely difficult to find an endo that specializes in AD because there just aren't enough of us around to support a whole practice but if you find a doctor who is willing to research the latest stuff and willing to be a partner with you in treating you then you can get somewhere. I prefer young fresh out of med school type doctors because they are often more hungry for the rare stuff plus also they have most recently studied the newest stuff coming down the pipe about this rare disease. I know you are in a hurry to get back to work but in reality it does take time and trial and error to find a doctor you can work with..... and I really think you need to see a nephrologist ASAP to get the kidney, high bp thing sorted out.

Medrol is methylprednisolone. It is a longer acting steroid and doesn't need to be converted by the liver like prednisone. I no longer take prednisone but took it for years but I stopped feeling well using it. The reason I take Medrol is to make me more stable between doses of HC...I don't feel that I am just counting the minutes until dose time now.

I agree there is no such thing as adrenal fatigue. There are adrenals that are failing perhaps over a long time but not fatigue. And even with Addison's you are subject to high BP due to age for example.
