I love The Daily Plate. It is a free tool on Livestrong.com for food/exercise/weight tracking. Plus I have the iPhone app. I am finding it very easy to record my food, especially with the iPhone.

I set it to "lose 1.5 pounds per week". It allows me 1926 calories per day. That turns out to be a lot of calories! When I eat six times a day, I find I am not hungry. Both days I have had a 200-300 cals left at the end of the day.

This morning I had an under 200 cal snack of Laughing Cow cheese wedges and saltines. Loving the salt. I am compiling a list of snacks that are 200 cal or less. I eat three 200 cal snacks per day.

I am weighing myself every morning. I am not obsessive about the scale it is just a valuable tool. I find that every morning weighing sets my mind in "weight loss mode" for the rest of the day. By weighing daily, I don't lose sight of my goal. I think I gained all this weight back (70 pounds) by NOT weighing myself.

I am reminding myself to TAKE MY VITAMINS. The last thing I want is to lose steam because of one of my deficiencies.

And then there is hydration. I am having a hard time with this because water is cold. I have pretty much given up tea and coffee because of stomach acid problems. I used to put lemon in my water but...again...worried about the darn stomach acid. I don't like artificial sweeteners. I may just start drinking plain old warm water. Yuck.

Have you tried some of the herbal teas? There are lots of them that are good for settling the stomache like raspberry tea and chamomille for night time and peppermint is good too. I also find that artificial sweetners do a number on my tummy so I've used honey in drinks....it seems sweeter to me than just plain sugar and so I use less of it. How come you can't drink cold water? I just die without ice water....I drink it by the quart, several quarts a day. The colder it is the more I drink...why I don't know?
So good for you that you found a place to be accountable....I think that is a big help! party0006.gif action-smiley-033.gif
Keep up the good work!! I'll be joining you soon as we are moving on Sat. and give me a few days to settle in the new place and then I'll be eating low carb again. I'll be losing right along with you!!

Great idea! It has been so long since I have had any herbal tea...I forgot all about it! I had some "Sleepytime" tea last night and it was fine without any sweetener.

Good luck with the move!

I have to avoid caffiene and I like herbal teas...as well as decaf Earl Grey. It really tastes good during the cold weather months. But you can also make an iced tea with herbal.

Yes, it is good. Some of the teas I've had to leave alone because of ingredients, especially licorice...messes with my fludro and I spend too much time in the ladies room. So, watch out for licorice as an ingredient. I loved the tea but I noticed problems.

Some are just too much for my tastes, but experiment and find ones you love.

Anne...well thanks for the site! Just signed up...just what I need!! Been wanting to do something like that but only knew of sites that cost $. This is perfect..

I sometimes combine different teas (the celestial seasons ones) esp in summer when I make iced herbal tea....
