I was taught years ago in regard to autoimmune disease trearment, that 7.5 mg. prednisone is the point beyond which the HPA is affected. So, 7.5 mg. pred or 30 mg. HC is the top of the normal range. Suppression of the pituitary function shouldn't occur within these doses and even when you take more if your body uses it, it should be okay...it's the constant higher doses that cause harm...

...It would make sense that that would also vary according to how quickly an individual is using it up....As Rebecca said about changing lifestyles --it can make a big difference in need and metabolism. Even day to day variations of activities can make a difference....It can make ya crazy trying to figure it out.
