Anyway I found a very fun Father's day present that you can make with your kids and/or grandkids. It is easy, usefull and fun.

Get an old tie (tons of them are always available at second hand stores)

Measure from the pointy end of the tie and cut it 14 1/2 in. long. Start at the pointy end and carefully unstitch the center part of the tie....so you end up being able to slip your hand all the way down the tie. Depending on the style of tie, you might need to handstitch the two flaps back together being careful to keep the middle open.....like a tube. When this is done iron down the cut end 1/2 in. Iron a good crease into it. Then fold the ironed end down until it is lined up with the bottom of t he point....leaving the pointy end free. You will be folding the tie almost in half with the right side out. Stitch this to the top layer, again making sure you can still slip your hand inside. Then sew a small piece of velcro to the very tip of the tie and fold it up and over the rest of the tie....sew the other piece of velcro there. Then you will have a neat eyeglass case. Simply slip the glasses in and fold the tip up and velcro it closed.
My kids made one for each of their grandpas...I got the ties for $2 each and they are colorful and fun. The boys had lots of fun making them too.

Hopefully I explained that well enough so you can understand...it really is easy.
