Title: ...i'm Back!
daughterofdarkness87 - July 14, 2010 04:45 PM (GMT)
Well, DBCAians it's been ages. I'm a horrible person for leaving and not coming back. -sigh- But the good news is, I'm back, and I plan on staying at least a little more active than I've been in a long while. I miss my cloaked friends. :) I've been lurking a little here, but I've decided to make my come back more permanent. :) Good to see you all again. <3
Edit: Apologies for the typing error in the title. I thought I hit that shift button... -sigh-
Edit 2: Apologies also for not posting this in the returning thread, mods. I know how it goes.

Yaaaaay! DEBZ! I missed you so much!
I'm so glad you're back! *HUGS*
How are you?
daughterofdarkness87 - July 14, 2010 05:09 PM (GMT)
I missed you too, Tara! -hugs back- I'm good. I got fired from a soul sucking job and finally got my butt started on school. I decided I want to be a teacher. :) How are you? :D
Asthenia182 - July 14, 2010 05:49 PM (GMT)
I'm great. Been writing more, looking at schools. I just got back from vacation, and it was fantastic.
I'm so glad you're here. Teaching? That's so cool!
daughterofdarkness87 - July 14, 2010 06:00 PM (GMT)
I saw your pictures from that trip. It looked beautiful. I'm so jealous! I haven't been out of state since I went to see my dad in '05. I'm hoping that this is my calling. After all I did enjoy playing school when I was I kid. I know I'm a dork. :) I've been writing as well. My friend here started a writing group out of our friends that meets bi-weekly. We get prompts (like this weeks was write the end of an unwritten novel) and we go from there.
What have you been writing?
Asthenia182 - July 14, 2010 06:32 PM (GMT)
Mostly drabbles, offshoots of drabbles, a little tinkering with Cricket's Mirrorverse here and there.
I'm also doing a new short story that I started whilst on vacation (kind of a "working vacation", since I do know that my work is my writing) about a few siblings that go digging and find... well, a surprise, that's for sure.
When I was a kid, I played house, and I played library. I moved my bookcase around and put a sign on it and use index cards as library cards.
daughterofdarkness87 - July 14, 2010 06:49 PM (GMT)
I did something like that with books. People were constantly borrowing them so I'd make them check them out, after my teacher stole one from me.
I have started and stopped like five stories that I can't seem to finish. I'm hoping the one that kind of sparked my interest takes off well. :)
It looks like my sister's dwarf hamsters just had babies... possibly last night. -sigh- More of the little buggers.
eriksmistress - July 14, 2010 07:32 PM (GMT)
DBEZ! It's great to have you back girl! Honestly, I missed seeing your blue type all over the place.
I know what you mean. I have a whole file of unfinished stories on my x-harddrvie.
daughterofdarkness87 - July 14, 2010 07:37 PM (GMT)
Well, it shall be here to stay. So long as I have internet, I swear, Beth. :D I missed everyone too. Though ironically, the DBCA hasn't been out of my thoughts at all. I just got a new computer, and lost all my bookmarks on the old one (I blue screen of deathed it with the Sims 2 and a few expansion packs). I used to... and still do... act out scenes of random shows or stories and randomly DBCAians will pop into my head and into the plot they go. :)
I have several stories on this computer thus far that haven't made it beyond 2000 words. -sigh- I'll get there, I think I've got the right idea this time. Hopefully :D

DEBZ! I'm in shock that it's really you! I was thinking about you the other day. I was going through an old forum and seeing your posts. Gosh, I'm glad you're back!!
Teacher? That seems to be the career of choice for people around me. Good luck with that, I hope it works out.
daughterofdarkness87 - July 14, 2010 09:59 PM (GMT)
Aw, you were thinking of me? :) Yup, I'm gonna be a teacher. Possibly elementary, hoping 6-8th graders (Hormones would be my biggest problem there rather than the rowdiness of the small ones and the drama of the high school-ers)
eriksmistress - July 14, 2010 10:28 PM (GMT)
Really? That caused a Blue Screen of Death? I'll have to pass that one along to my sister.
DBCAians are so versitale we go great with everything, just like cheese! And salt. I've had a story idea brewing in my head for years involving all the members, the mansion, muses, EVERYTHING! My only problem is it'll be a pain the arse to write and I'm worried I'll miss the mark [personality wise] by a mile.
I don't know if you'll be escaping the drama of high schoolers by much. One of my current friends is going into 8th grade--let's just say from what she's been telling me junior high is starting to become a mini high school. Haha! Good luck with that anyway. Maybe you'll get lucky and get to teach a group of little angels. :)
daughterofdarkness87 - July 15, 2010 12:32 AM (GMT)
-snort laughs- Angels? In this state? -giggles- Well, I can hope. :D As for your story with all of the DBCA queen-dom in it, well... I think you should go for it. Even if you get our personalities wrong slightly, we couldn't be mad 'cause, well, you put us in print. We'd be immortalized forever. :D
Satai Delenn (Snapegirl!) - July 15, 2010 05:29 AM (GMT)
Hi Debz! Welcome back! Congrats on wanting to be a teacher. And yes, from what I understand, Jr. High is actually worse in the drama department than high school. At least, in this state it is. Seems like they're all trying to think that they're older and more adult than they really are.
Anyway, the only big news I have is that I got published (in my school's literary journal), and I had my kitchen redone (I promise gals, I will post the pictures soon, I've just been lazy), and yay! Thanks to the drabbles we've been doing here each week, I've been working a little more on one of my novels and I'm actually finally pleased with it!
Oh, sorry to hear about your computer. I can believe it that the Sims could blow a computer (OK, sorry, that sounded REALLY bad!) because of all the memory it takes up. Btw, if you haven't already been there yet, check out our new Sims thread!
daughterofdarkness87 - July 15, 2010 02:54 PM (GMT)
Hi, Delenn! Oh boy... Maybe I'll teach the hyper active elementary kids then... Hmm -thinks hard- I haven't been to the Sims thread yet, but I'll end up going there eventually! :D Congrats on both getting published and re-doing your kitchen. We did that once, and now I dislike going anywhere near it. (My mother chose turquoise paint for the trim and cupboards. It's pretty but there's just too much)
Satai Delenn (Snapegirl!) - July 16, 2010 01:28 AM (GMT)
Thank you. Wow, I can't imagine turquoise anything except jewelry, lol. I actually love my kitchen. I used warm tones of honey-brown for the cabinets with a beautiful red for the island, and a reddish-brown for the walls (though I may wind up redoing the walls to a brighter red down the road in a semi-gloss to match the island like it was originally supposed to, but didn't wind up happening thanks to the attitude of the painter. *sigh*) but I really do love my kitchen and am otherwise proud of how it turned out.
daughterofdarkness87 - July 16, 2010 02:49 AM (GMT)
Wow that sounds amazing! Very autumn-esque! :) Yeah the whole turquoise thing ruined a lot of jewelry for me... :) But I still wear some. :D

Everytime I'm on MSN I wonder what's happened to you, I'm so glad you're back! :D
(I feel quite tardy, since it's been 5 days since this thread started)
daughterofdarkness87 - July 20, 2010 04:48 AM (GMT)
Hi, Mel! I missed you too! Can I get off the floor now? lol. I honestly stopped using MSN. I started getting cyber stalked by this guy and it just ended badly...
