Okay, so recently Crimson and I had an LotR viewing party where we watched all three movies to refresh our memories and stir up some ideas for fanfiction. Sadly, we only made it to right after Eowyn slays the Witch King of Agbar and is all, NYAHH, I'm a woman, RAWRRR!
Anyhow, I got quite a few ideas and thought I'd start with the Legolas ones, and ask what you think and what your favorite Legolas pairings might be. :]

Legolas/Aragorn.
-drools- Enough said.
Legolas/Haldir (the Captain of the elves in Galadriel's realms, when they first go into her forest.)
I'm sure this is probably a popular pairing already, but I like it, and I got an idea for a fanfiction centered around the Galadriel bit when the elves begin to sing for Gandalf's death (right before Frodo almost gives the ring to Galadriel and she wigs out).
Legolas/Gimli. I just wanted to put this out there so I can say- "NOOOOOOOOO!"
They are buddies. Sort of. They are competitive and whatnot. They are not sleeping together. Kthanksbai.
But, if anyone would like to share their opinion, do so, and if it's a pro-Legolas/Gimli, so be it, but I'll just let you know that I'll most likely be doing my, "ewww, squicky!" dance.
I hesitate to bring up this last one, as Sam may murder me, but...
Legolas/Boromir.
Simply because in the Fellowship, when they began to run from the Balrog and came out into the big open space with the ginormous staircase that ended up collapsing, Boromir nearly fell off the damned rock when he went rushing out there and Legolas grabbed him and pulled him back on top of him to keep him from falling. It made me giggle and have slashy thoughts, so there's a possibility.

Heh heh heh... well actually I've always adored Legolas/Aragorn and as far as slash is concerned that's as far as I go. For personal reasons I despise Legolas/Haldir after reading a certain fic, but I'll say none of that here unless anyone's interested in some very mature stuff, but very well written besides. The woman in particular wrote so well when I first happened across my first slash fic that I just couldn't stop reading... she was a poet! In fact I have something she wrote quoted in my sig, but enough of that. For straight pairings, I like Leggy/OC and maybe I could try Legolas/Eowyn, but I, for personal reasons, again despise Legolas/Arwen. I do agree with being AGAINST Legolas/Gimli. I'm sorry, it's just not a pretty picture... now I feel like listing various links to slashy DOOM, but I'll do it anyway!
First off, I have to mention this hilarious vid, including the Legolas/Boromir scene, to the extreme... so for your general LOTR slashy enjoyment: Do NOT watch this if you're a Backstreet Boy fan!
Secondly, I must put down the ultimate site, it not only has LOTR but Troy, Master&Commander, HP, and of course POTC amongst many others... I only enjoy the LOTR and POTC, except for a Troy fic, but unfortunately I can't make it past a certain chapter, my stupid comp... there's also a very good O/V fic involving vamps in the misc category, but don't read it unless you have an idea what O/V is ...Would you believe that this site doesn't get caught by the strictest of internet security?

Basically.. all Legolas pairings I've ever read have been too fluffy, too Mary Sue or just to poorly written. It's enough too put even the most rabid Aragorn fan off her LotR fanfiction! Maybe it's just the hate of Orlando!Legolas? *shrug*

Yeah, I've never been able to find really really fantastic Legolas fics, at least on FF.net, but I looked at that Library of Moria thing in Demon's post, and it's AMAZING! Granted, I've only read one Legolas there so far, as I've been reading my favorite hobbity pairing more than anything, but still. Amazing.

Yay! I was of service and actually my favorite fanfic in the whole world that is asexual is Legolas! Here read! I truly cried when I read this and it's not even finished yet, though she says she's going to update soon *fingers crossed* But if you want to read a good Leggy fic, look no further, and please don't be fooled into thinking it's a Sue by the title. Well, I've read the first two chapters and, ehhh..it's pretty good. I don't know, I'm kind of wrapped into the world of OMFG TWINCEST WHEEEE right now trying to finish this chapter before the readers that have been waiting for months now come after me with pitchforks, but afterwards I'll read more of it.
Libraries of Moria = AMAZING. *drools* My favorite LotR pairing of all time.... there are so many fantastic stories with that ship on the LoM and I can't wait to get back into Focusing-On-LotR mood so I can read more.
I'll make some other topics with LotR ships on my plot bunny list soon.
But yes, A BloodRed Rose for Legolas is good so far. I'll read more soon!

AAH! I never went to Library of Moria before...and I so regret it this site is Frigging ph...fantastic! (sorry, I'm so used to writing Phantastic...this is bad...soon I'm going to start chanting through the walls of my home to freak my gran..cos the attic has a resonance thing to it...it's quite cool...XD) As for Leggy pairings well... I haven't read any good Legolas/aragorn yet so I don't have an opinion on that one but I like: Legolas/Haldir and Legolas/Elrohir or Elladan ^^ However I somewhat agree with Delta ...he is asexual in a way that no pairings seems quite good enough... XD but that might just be me and my perverted side that can't find (for now, since I haveth found this vunderful site ) a very good leg-slash pairing

Regarding the asexual thing...I believe Tolkien actually commented on that aspect of Legolas' personality himself, or at least the idea that a few Elves in general had no desire for romantic relationships of any kind, and preferred adventure to settling down. Their "lust" was directed in a different way, not toward people, but toward the excitement of battle. (This is not, of course, to say that battle = sex. Merely that romance and sexuality of any kind had no place in the lives of these particular types of Elves.)
