I'm just putting this up here to REMIND everyone that we're still here! DBCA isn't dead, we're still hanging out and lurking.

Come on, guys! Let's hop back on this baby and ride it all the way to town. I know you all miss everything fun we used to do.

Should we have contests? New RPGs? New forums?! Let's clean house and get back down to business I miss y'all a whole lot, and this was a sanctuary for us to all come to and lay everything out... Whether it was insane or not (usually insane).

Seriously, it is 2:30 here in Central Standard Time (USA) and there are 8 guests online!! Is that people not logged in that are members, or just lurky people? Tell me what's going on with that??

Lol. It's 2:43 here in CSTville. I'm here. I love this place. I will admit that when I first came here, it was through someone else (I don't remember who, and I don't think they're even here anymore). At first, I wasn't sure I'd last here because I'm not a real Phantom fan. Yet you all made me feel welcome anyway, even though I was (and still am) a major Severus Snape fan. I guess he's my Erik, lol. Anyway, I've been here five years now. Five years, can you believe it? Out of all the fan forums I've been to, this is the only one I still visit and post in (I don't even go to the forum I created anymore). So, I guess that is a testament to the good people that come here.

I hope the D.B.C.A. never goes away (oops. Sorry, didn't mean to make a rhyme, lol).

I know, the girl who brought me here actually doesn't come around anymore. Do you guys remember Ren at all? I'm pretty sure that was her nickname. Anyway, I think the fact that most of us have been here for 5+ years really speaks volumes to what this site means. It's more than just a place for us to gush about our respective fandoms, it's a community. We really are like a family here, and I can say that even though I don't know any of you guys personally, I feel like I could call on you at any time.

We do need to get on this. Operation Clean-Up or something. I'mma contact Mel; she talked about how clearing the site would be easier for Newbies and we do have a ton of useless topics around here.

I think we need a total relaunch of this site, hey ho. (I've been watching too much Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares on BBC America).

I fully support the clean up effort. However I can't do much about it for the next week as I have so much on/due/fieldwork.

Anyway, I fully support doing some more creative writing contests and such. Maybe something Sherlock Holmes based? Something more recent to jog people's writing skills.

At any rate, it's so cold here and I'm off to shower (possibly with Beauty and the Beast's Human Again song in my head...damn cleaning music).

I took a year-long hiatus from the D.B.C.A, (Okay, I forgot it's existence for a bit) and when I logged back on last month, no one was there!! I was worried that the site had died. Anyway, we need to get this place back in tip-top shape! *takes out broom and dustpan* Who's up for a renovation? Let's get this ball of black capes and insanity rolling!

I'm alive!

I... just kinda got busy. And maybe just a little bit distracted by livejournal and graduating from high school. Possibly. *looks sheepish* I still love this place, I'm just easily distracted.

But, yeah, the clean out sounds like a brill idea. And maybe we can jumble up the Angsts a bit, add in the Doctor or something like that. I'm totally up for challenges, though. Just give me some ideas and I'll whip something up for you guys. I was thinking about starting a weekly themed drabble challenge. You know, where you have to write something centered around a word like cold or serendipity. Could be fun.

I would say we should get something together by the way of challenges after this place gets a little cleaning. We could all use a bit of a creativity nudge, and I'm all for mixing up our angsts. I feel as though some are not represented or outdated.

Original angsts should stay. Erik and Severus are musts... Who else do you guys think? Of course it will ultimately be up to Mel since I'm guessing she's going to be in charge of cleaning house. I think she could really use our help by way of input. What do you think needs to stay and what do you think really needs to go (i.e. where does no one post anymore? what's out of date?)

P.S.- sorry for any misspellings and repetition, I'm on a lot of pain medicine so I'm not quite sure what's right and wrong at this point. Hahaha. It's like being really drunk and high. YAYY!!

Hmm... keeping the attic, and relegating the old den stories there might be a good idea. Or having a subforum for old challenge fics? *thinky face*

Maybe a general fandom/rec section would be a good idea, instead of the guest room? I know I've been trying to spread the fandoms a bit. (I admit, I maaaay have overshot the DW one. And Emilie Autumn.) A place to discuss shows like NCIS, or music like Bowie, or films like Iron Man 2? Musicals?

And Doctor should have his own forum. For the inevitable 9 vs. 10 vs. 11 dragout.

Yes, the Attic should stay. And I'm for expanding the Guest Room, but perhaps some of the really old topics in there should go? I'd like to see the Bathroom stay, but more than that, I'd love to see more participation in there. It just sits so empty and lonely most of the time.

Maybe the Hall of Shame and the Parlour could be combined, though?

I think that Batman can be moved to the Guest Room though. I don't really remember many people ever being in there. And Lord of the Rings is a possible candiate for a move as well? Just suggestions.

Do you think it would be possible to expand the Kitchen to include non-D.C.B.A. ideas? There were in the past, several times I wanted to talk about things I was writing and get ideas, but because it was for D.B.C.A. pairings/stories only, I didn't get to talk about it, or get much needed feedback for things I was writing.

OK, those are my ideas.

And, welcome back, Jay! Semi-sorry to hear about your boyfriend (sorry, I can be brutally honest a lot of the time, and from what I remember you discussing about him, I can't say I'm sorry that he's no longer in the picture)

Aw who am I kidding? I miss this place so much! This place was my safe haven way back when. I can't believed I actually left. Junior year this stupid boy came into the picture and I just...blah. Wasted time. Anyway, I hope I haven't been away too long. I mean, it's only been...what? Three years?
