Wow, I haven't been here in forever. Just thought you ladies might like to see this. Lilly got hold of my black skirt one day and put it on like a toga. Then she ran around the apartment giggling, looking vaguely like Darth Vader sans helmet.
ROFL. I have vids of it, too, somewhere, of her tromping around with it trailing on the floor behind her, looking all serious and official.

She's two, now - how unbelievable is that? She doesn't "talk" as much as other kids - at least, in the way of how many "coherent" words she can actually say - but she communicates pretty well (and rambles up a storm in Lilly-speak, lol).
She never ceases to surprise me with how uncannily apt her understanding actually is about things you would never expect a little bean her age to understand - that, and how much she picks up just by listening and watching. It's insane. (Quite often, she'll suddenly say a word out of nowhere, one that I never coached her on or tried to actively teach her - she just picked it up by listening.)
My favorite recent, totally unexpected Lilly-ism: She was watching Sleeping Beauty today - I wasn't watching it with her, because she's forced me to watch it so many times I got bloody sick of it, so I was in the other room, just listening and tooling around on the computer - and I could hear that the movie had reached the part where Prince Philip kills Maleficent!Dragon. After the dramatic music had stopped, I promptly heard Lilly say, "DIE, DIE, DIE!"

Precious!! I love getting to see pictures of your little one, Heather. She's absolutely adorable. I feel like we're all psudo-aunties via the internet to her. She's so sweet. She kind of reminds me of myself, repeating anything I heard and repeating it at inopportune moments.
Example-- While driving in the car on a Sunday afternoon... 2 year old Sheridan: JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS! Parents: WHAAAT?! 2 year old Sheridan: *points out car window to a lifesize crucifix on the side of the road by a Catholic church* Jesus Christ on the cross...

LOL.
Yeah, Lil doesn't say much on the phone besides "Hi" and "Bye." She mostly likes to just listen silently to the person talking on the other end. And then gets p.o.'d at me when I try to get the phone back so I can actually talk to whoever is on the other end.
Most recent updates:
Her newest word is "hand," which she pronounces "han," like Han Solo.
Also, I fooled around with a child-height calculator on the internet, which said, based on her current height/weight and the heights of her parents, that Lilly would be approximately 4'10" when she reached age 18.
