Hide And Seek!

"97 decapitated Sue, 98 garroted Sue, 99 Reposessed organs Sue, 100 cheesegratered Sue!" Adi removed her hands from her eyes and spun around to find Julian exacly where he had been standing when she started counting, staring at her in amusement.

"Ca-at!" she whined, "You were sposed to go hi-ide"

Julian rolled his eyes, "I said it before you started counting, I am not playing hide and seek with you.

"Aw."

"You look adorable when you're pouting, you know that?"

Adi grumbled, "Rather be sneaking around the castle trying to catch you."

"Really Word Witch you know you could never catch me."

"But you never find me when I hide!"

"It never occured to you that I dont look."

"Not really."

"Why?"

"Ever had an angry Erik chasing you because you acidentally spilled orange juice all over his favourite cloak?"

"Nope."

"Believe me, you learn how to hide very well"

"I'm still not hiding."

"Gah!" Adi threw her hands up in disgust, "Fine, let's just call the whole thing off!" she gathered up her DBCA Hide and Seek equipment, a dictionary, an invisibility charm displacer, and a little black crystal that glowed red when you held it up to a closet door in order to check if the possible occupants were actually involved in the game. Juian still hadnt quite figured out the purpose of the towel in all this. and moved towards the cupboard, flinging it open.

Out tumbled a very surprised looking DBCAian.

"Oh." Adi looked down, "I didnt know you were playing..."

Sheri grinned up towards Adi and shrugged, "You know I can't ever give up a good game of hide and seek," she flipped her short bob out of her eyes, "Especially when it's on the DBCA grounds!"

"Well then, we can't just play with ourselves and our muses..." Adi mumbled.

Sheri giggled.

"What did I-- Oh goodness," Adi headpalmed and rolled her eyes.

"If that's the kind of playing we're getting up to... well, I'm in." Tara attempted to grin leeringly, but ended up just looking a bit maniacal. She came into the large room via some secret door.

"MARCO!" The shout resonated all around the ballroom, coming from a masculine voice.

"...Polo?" Tara answered, looking around. "Whose muse is that? Most of mine are on vacation, or sleeping."

Jayora snuch into the Ballroom with a psycotic grin on her face. "HEEHEe..." she giggled madly. "HA! Marco...never should've let Eomer name the dog..." *Snerk!* she ground to an abrupt halt when she saw the DBCAians staring at her.


She gave a loud whistle and waited for the tall Bernese mountain dog to lope up. She gave a nervous smile.
"EOMERWANTEDASUE-HUNTINGDOG!" she blushed and looked up at Adi.
"So...what's everyone doing?"

"Well, we just arrived." Sam said, swirling into the room, swathed in a long, somewhat dirty, travel cloak.

"By air mail." Sanne added dryly, smoothing her hair down.

"I'm sure Cal will be along soon. You could always have ridden with him." Trystan countered, crossing his arms defensively over his chest. Sanne shuddered.

"So never again." She muttered.

"So, what's crackalackin?" Sam asked, striding past her bickering friends.

"We're trying to start up a game of hide and seek." Sheri told her.

"You're looking mightily unsettled, Lathril." Adi added.

"Just found out her childhood sweetheart bats for the other team now." Sanne announced smugly. "Pity. He grew up so handsome. Ah well. Them's the breaks."

"It's not really an issue, Sanne." Sam sighed. "So, hide and seek? I suppose we're playing by DBCA rules, seeing as Julian is holding the Whipping Towel."

Jayora's eyebrows shot towards the ceiling.
"WHIPPING towels?! What kind of game is this?!"

"My dear Jayoura, you should know that nothing here professes to be normal, sane or anything les than wierd." Adi replied, picking up her supplies

"Put it shortly we're all mad here." Tara added.

"And we like it!" Lathril and Tara both snickered.

"Come to think of it someone probably should explain the rules," Adi looked around, "Anyone?"

jayora smiled weakly at the Queen.
"Of course I know that! Even still...towels are a BIT much." She muttered. smiling wickedly, she looked over at Guy. "You probably don't want to hide with me...but if you complain, I might make you." Guy looked pleadingly at the other DBCAians.

"Would someone please explain the rules before Jayora forces me to hide someplace....compromising?"

"Certainly." Sam stepped forward, a sly smirk on her face.

"The whipping towel is used in a variety of situations- for example, last time I had possession of it during a game, I used it as an invisibility cloak, and then to tap Tara as she ran past, as the Seeker."

"That was you?" Tara scowled. "And I was blaming Cal."

Sam shrugged. "It's more fun that way. Anyway, it's a multi-purpose thing. Generally used for whipping though, as we're a naughty bunch..."

There were a few answering snickers to this statement. "Also, in Adi's box of equipment, you'll see that black crystal. An invaluable tool for the Seeker, it tells you if there's anyone hiding in a closet. If it turns red, don't open the door."

"Unless you're into watching." Sanne winked. Jayora shook her head, blinking rapidly.

"The invisibility charm displacer removes invisibility charms, because cheating isn't nice..."

"But you just said before that you used the towel as an invisibility cloak."

"Never said I was nice. Anyway, last piece of equipment is the dictionary. Guess what that's for."

"Hitting Cal over the head when he gets too frisky." Tara offered.

"True. But also, it's a portal. Gets you to any room in the mansion pronto." Sam grinned. "Rules are, Seeker has to count one hundred Sues before seeking, hiders are encouraged to not congregate in the Bar- ever since that one game that was over in ten minutes- and no molesting the angsts while under invisibility charms. It upsets them so... I mean, Boromir almost stabbed me last time! Honestly... wait... I haven't forgotten anything, have I?"

Shadow melted into view, dragging three of her muses behind her.
"Only that Gari," she gestured to the first muse, a tall handsome brown haired man who scowled and huffed impatiently at his mistress, "is not, and never will, play hide and seek as it is beneath his princely dignity, so we all must leave him alone to do whatever it is he does when I'm not paying attention to him."

Gari glared and stalked off, while the other two muses, one a short albino boy of around 12 years old, and the other a hyper 7 year old girl, giggled at Gari's face.
"And" Shadow continued " Darius is not allowed to use his magic, because last time he was hidden for 3 days!"
Darius grinned cheekily at Adi while flipping his mistress the bird. "Aww, c'mon Queenie, you wont let her do that to me, will you?"

Adi grinned back sweetly " I'm sorry my dear, but Kitten is your mistress. I am sure that if you talk to Julian, he might interceed on your behalf."
Darius muttered something under his breath that sounded like "mumble...fanged twit... corrupting my mistress...mumble..."

Shadow sighed "If you are going to be like that Darius, you can go back to Migard and work for Queen Kelarissa like you are supposed to be! NO? Okay, the third and final think i have to say before we get started is: NOONE feed Illia sugar again, I've just gotten her down from the ceiling in the dining room! oh, and I'm it!"

Shadow faced herself into a corner and began counting "One Sue tarred and feathered, two Sues choked to death by tea bags, three Sues posted to Timbuctoo, Erisah save me, this is harder than I thought, four Sues, male ones, castrated by egg slicer..."

With many giggles and whispers, the group dispersed about the mansion to hide as Shadow struggled to come up with new and inventive ways to either kill or castrate Sues.

Jayora blinked for a moment before she realized that Shadow was counting. with a scared squeak, she dragged Eomer and Guy off to find a decent place to hide.
Rushing through the mansion, she suddenly skidded to a halt.
"Guy, you were talking with Spike for a really long time. Where did you go?"
"WE were on the outside balcony...why?"
"Drat.....oh well. We're going to hide in the...um..." Eomer whispered something in her ear. "NO! I'm not old enough...and besides, the that's the last thing YOU need!" a devious grin spread across her face. "I know....Come here!" She dragged them off down another hall. "in here! no one will look for us here!" Guy shot her an incredulous glance before being shoved into the room. "Trust me on this."

Adi grinned at Julian, "Race ya?" she offered.

The vampire grazed his fangs over his palm and slapped the Queen's open wrist, leaving a black track on her skin, "You're on."

Spinning in unison, the two raced for the foyer and the ginourmous Mary Poppins style Merry-go-round spinning slowly within...

(The Merry Go Round was introduced during a challenge entry, I believe it should be a permanent fixture. The horses can be ridden individually arouns the mansion)

jayora pressed her ear to the door, and muttered darkly.
"I think we're safe for now..." Eomer grinned wolfishly.
"Safe? Anyone could come around the corner and find us!" Guy smirked.
"Only if they have x-ray vision, and I doubt that...princeling." Eomer glared at the dark-clad muse.
"If you want to be found out, go right ahead, smart-ar$#!" Guy drew a dagger from his belt, still smiling.
"Perhaps you should leave. I don't think Jay wants to be found yet." Eomer growled out a curse and disapeared in a puff of silver and red smoke.

jayora glanced over at her quietly-arguing muses.
"shut up...shut up!" Finally, Eomer left huffily. Guy looked over at her, huddled agaisnt the door.
"You realize that if anyone walks in, you'll be found immediately, right?" Jayora grinned.
"You have a better idea?"
"Maybe.....if you want to hear it."

"100 Sues...uhh, 100 Sues..." Erisah appeared in a flash of green smoke "Mortals...you are so unimaginative... Have you considered the rat thing?" With a bored sigh Erisah was gone again. Shadow brightened up
"Oh yeah, the rat thing! 100 Sues tied down, rats ont he stomach, the rats covered by itron buckets, then heated, so the rats eat their way through the Sue to escape the head! ugh, thats kind of gross actually..." Shadow turned around to find the room completely empty. "Damn, was hoping Julian would help me look." She picked up the crystal, the invisibility charm displacer and the dictionary before moving off into the mansion.

"We're playing!" Sirius yelled, grinning evilly. Cricket glared at him, then started towards the library.

"I'm pretty sure they're supposed to survive the looking, Cricket," Sirius stage-whispered.

"What? Oh, with the books, and me as a librarian, and the wards... eek! Point." She grinned. "I has an idea."

"Whenever you start talking in catmacro, brilliant things start hapening," Sirius said grinning.
