I dunno what you guys would think of this...

But I thought of this weird thing to try with the first part of "Strange Deja Vu" (up to right after Victoria speaks).

Those of you who have heard my voice will understand why I propose this idea.

As long as James would not object to this, what I would want to do is keep his vocals on the Nicholas section--then see if there's a way to remove them from the Victoria section.

My reason: I would like to redub my OWN voice onto this section.

I can make my voice fairly strongly resemble LaBrie's...but with an obvious gender difference.

See where that plays into the plot of the album perfectly? You'd have the two character-voices actually distinguished by gender...but seeming as if the same SOUL is indeed driving both of them.

Now, I dunno if this is an appropriate idea for the medley, but I'd LOVE to try it on my own anyway, if somebody has the software to give me the file I'd need to pull it off. ;)

'transcribe' has a karaoke feature you could use.

I'm afraid I don't know what kind of program that is. Is it free?

though i think maybe it would be better if we did a mini cover version of the part, with our own instruments. the flow of this medley would be poor with all the real DT tracks segueing into each other, not to mention the legal issues :D maybe one of the male singers could cover for the part you envisioned for JLB?
