I think you've been incredibly kind to this album. None of the rerecordings of the Smile songs passes muster, with Wonderful being an utter desecration of a beautiful song. Wind Chimes is the nearest to being a success but it's poor in comparision to the Smile version

Of the others, With Me Tonight and Getting Hungry are enjoyable (there's an intriguing verson of the latter on the Faces box set) and the singles are unimpeachable.

But as for the rest it's a big thumbs down.

Still, it's nice to take out this album every now and then and just enjoy the vocals. It's not fair though to compare it to Smile '67 or even Smile 2004.
