Softmod Instructions(if you're already modded, skip this.)
1. Get action replay & a memory card
2. Get splinter cell, mechassault or 007 agent under fire (original, non-platinum).
3. Get softmod installer deluxe
4. Copy the 2 saves to your memcard via action replay
5. Copy them both to your xbox hard drive via the MS dashboard
6. Get into splinter cell, open up the exploit
7. You should now be at a blue dashboard screen if it worked.
8. Backup your MS C drive then go to Install Softmod.
9. Get the game out of the drive, power off and on, see if the mod worked. Do NOT power off until install softmod is done.
10. Delete any stuff on your E:/TDATA to save space. This will delete any DLC from any game, so have it backed up via ftp.
11. Use dvd2xbox and put your halo 2 DVD in the drive. Copy it to your hard drive.
12. To free up space to download new DLC, delete any single player map, this will be anything with numbers at the start of the map file. Do not delete single player shared or shared.
13. Get your FTP set up, go to settings and network and make sure it's a dhcp connection. Now you can follow the below instructions, congrats!

Instructions:
1. Put all original maps into the source folder from your halo 2 maps folder.
2. Then you need to Patch/Sign the maps with the auto-patcher! WAIT like 5-30 minutes (depending on your CPU speed). There's 3 OKs you'll have to go through. The first is when you start the program and it patches, the 2nd is when it's signing the maps. The 3rd is when it's done.
3. Now FTP all your new maps over from the modded folder , ENJOY!
4. Clear your cache (x, y and z drives)
5. Reach me on XBC - the server is residing at the top of the Halo 2 room.

Also, if I have time and you can't figure it out yourself, just tell me your AIM SN, I'll allow you, and we can meet up on netmeeting. In there, I can just do everything for you if you share your desktop and have the required components.

I think this will also help people find this easier because I think people overlook where it is now.

Wow oded do you have to bitch about everything? I bought a mac because of some of us have to do graphic designing, 3d modeling, and good video editing. Macs are the best for everything but c++ and games.

Sorry, but all the big graphic designing agencies use Linux and/or Windows, NOT Mac. 3d Studio Max, Maya, and SoftImage are all primarily run Linux and Windows in the graphics development industry.
Why? Name one great video card you can put in a Mac. Please do. And importantly, you cannot run processors in parallel with Macs.
Mac is dead. Get a cheap celeron and get on XBC, no more questions asked.

actually within the next year when mac switches to the intel chips I will be able to run mac os x and windows so I think I can be patient. Yeah I think I know what I am talking about when it comes to those subjects. Mac is the only platform that any big movie is done on. Pixar does all their 3d animation on Macs. And mac is the main platform for photoshop.

Okay, I already own a chipped Xbox, but I'm thinking about softmodding my second xbox to LAN with, soooo please explain this to me.

1. I want to have me softmodded xbox run UnleashX, not EvoX or the other crap. Will I be able to change the OS by FTPing and replacing xboxdash.xbe? with UnleashX's files? Or is the dash built into the softmod package?

2. Why do you need a BIOS anyways? The BIOS isn't stored on a modchip that overrides the normal BIOS when on like on a chipped box, rather it seems that you replace the original dash with a hacked one and the unhacked Xbox BIOS loads it because it has the same name as the original, right?

3. You can only get on Xbox Live and not be banned if you turn the Xbox on with the game in the drive?

4. What about the infamous clock loop? Will that happen with this mod? Why/Why not?

5. If I decide to go back to unmodded I can just restore my backup, right?

OK, thats all for now.

Ok Gunslinger,

once you have the Xbox softmodded, I am pretty sure you can install whatever dashboard you want. Evox is just good for getting the Xbox modded at first.

As for the Bios, yes it is indeed stored on the modchip. The modchip has banks of memory and you flash the bios onto those and then when you power the xbox with the modchip on, the modchip's bios boots instead of the normal xbox bios.

And as for Xbox Live it depends on your settings. If you have Xbox Live enabled as soon as you turn on the Xbox and are using the soft-mod, I'm pretty sure you will be banned. Also, if you replace the stock HD with another HD after you have signed into LIVE with the old HD and same gamertag you will get banned. The hard drive id key and the eeprom of your Xbox are "married" when you go on Xbox Live. So if you change one and not the other, you will be banned.

I'm not familiar with the clock loop can't help you there

Yeah I'm pretty sure you can undo a softmod. I personally chipped my box, so if any of my information is wrong with regards to softmodding please feel free to correct me. Thanks

Macs are pretty stable. I liked using them during school projects and shit. Windows is still 1000000x better though.
