It was a lovely sunny day outside; it was as if the weather knew what day it was and was celebrating with all the happy students and parents, who made their way into the train station with suitcases, books, pets and very unusual shaped parcels.

On Platform 9 and ¾ there stood several groups of friends, seeing each other for the first time since the start of the summer holiday, who were exchanging every exhilarating detail about their holiday and sharing each others excitement about the start of the new school year.
Parents stood on the platform kissing their children goodbye, telling them to behave themselves, making sure they had everything they needed or rubbing a bit of dirt off their child’s bright red cheek. Some even cried as they watched their little ones walk onto the train; as if watching them grow 10 years before their eyes.
“They go grow up so fast” said one mother and then burst out in sobs
“Be careful!” shouted another, who was waving at a young boy through a window, “watch out for you know who

Chloe McConnell entered the platform with her older sister Lucy, who had left Hogwarts 5 years before. Although, with a mother who died when Chloe was a baby and a father who abandoned them when he found out they were witches, Lucy had been more like a mother to her.
“It’s gonna be so weird with you gone, the flat will be empty,” said Lucy, “although I betcha the neighbors will be pleased that there’ll be no loud music and arguing!”
“Yeah,” laughed Chloe, “unless you start singing in the shower, then they might move!” Lucy laughed and playfully hit Chloe on the arm.
“You’ll barely notice I’m gone, you’ll be working during the day and I can easily meet you at Hogsmeade at the weekends,” she added, “although not often, I do have a life!”
“You better get on the train, it leaves in ten minutes and I’m sure you’re loosing ‘cool points’ by being seen talking to me!” Lucy said
“Luce,” Chloe sighed, “I lose cool points just by being related to you,”
“Cheek!” Lucy laughed and then she gave Chloe a huge bear-hug, “I’m really gonna miss you, promise you’ll write when your not too busy”
“Of course,” Chloe replied kissing her sister goodbye and then walked onto the train with her suitcase and her cat.

Chloe set off down the corridor, looking for an empty carriage

Phoebe Minerva Higgs appeared from a brick wall onto platform 9 and 3/4 with her two muggle parents, who still seemed uneasy at the idea they had just walked through a brick wall and were no surrounded by witches and wizards.
She said goodbye to her parents nd wondered off to try find a good seat on the train before kids scattered in at the last moment.

Tyler Brown emerged into the Platform completley alone with her suitcase - her mother was too busy with wor to see her off.
She looked in envy at all the parents kissing their children goodbye; waving viciously and grooming them while they compained in embarresment.
She let out a huge sigh; this was the forth time Tyler had arrived at the platform alone - her mother hadn't even bothered to see her off on her first year.
She walked up to the friendly face of a friend who was in her house and saying goodbye to her parents.
"Oh hi Tyler," said her friend with a rather large smile upon her face
"Oh hello dear, where's your mother?" her friends mum (who seemed very fond of Tyler) giving her a quick hug.
Tyler smiled feebly, "She.. em, couldn't make it" Tyler replied sadly
"Oh - well I'm sure she's heartbroken she couldn't seee you off dear" replied Mrs. Fillybucket with a rather disapproving look o her face - she knew as well as Tylert that this was a complete lie - her mother could hardy car less
"Well bye Mr and Mrs Fillybucket" she said gloomily and walked onto the train with thir daughter Sabrina.
"Bye now, be good - both of you" she waved, "Make sure you write"
Tyler gave her friend a half-hearted laugh, "Your mum's great Sab" she said, envy filling her face.
"Only in small portions; she can be a right toad" Sab laughed and they stepped onto the train, heaving their suitcases behind them.
Tyler heard Mrs FillyBucket in the distance "Really - that woman should be arrested - that's neglect! Perhaps we shoud say something to the minestry, I'm sure we could look after her - we're more like parents to her than that darn aweful witch!..."
Mrs Fillybucket's rants became quieter until it was muffle noise.

Spydie Rosier stood nervously in front of the "wall" concealing Platform 9 3/4, accompanied by her grandfather, Sasiphoraticus. She, normally incredibly calm, was spastically fidgeting due to her nervousness. Her grandfather, pale and worn, nudged her through the barrier and followed shortly after.

Spydie was taken aback at the sight before her -- she was accustomed to long flights that would take her to school. The train seemed incredibly...crude. The bustle of activity bothered her. Private aircrafts had taken her to Gnox Magical Academy for Witches and Sorceresses for all of her previous magical schooling. The massive numbers of people shocked her.

She stared a bit at the families, but was soon enveloped in a hug from her grandfather.

"This is a good school," he said softly, almost feebly, "I went here for my schooling. As did your father. And my father as well." He paused and looked her in the eyes, an all too familiar violet gleaming back at her. "Take care, Lovey."

"I'll come home for the holidays, I promise. I will write every day," she stammered at him, he only smiled. Somehow, she knew. She knew he was going to die. She knew this was going to be the last time she ever saw her dear grandfather alive again.

She gave him one final hug, one last farewell. He handed her a small cage, which she placed atop her luggage cart. Her small ferret was dooking loudly, but she paid no attention as she boarded the train.

Spydie found an empty compartment and stored her luggage in the compartments above. She sat staring out the window, trying to find the frail old man she had just parted with. He had left her sight and she was struggling to hold back the tears that she knew would be coming for half a year. She removed her pudgy ferret, Lightning, from her cage and held it to her face, giving it tiny kisses to help ease the pain.
