I'm a late comer to the show and have been trying to watch the episodes on SciFi channel. They, according to their promotions, are showing ALL of the episodes in ORDER. Questions - Is this true? How many were originally aired on FOX back in 2002 and in what order were they shown in? Finally - what episodes are on the series DVD?
Thanks Das Grab-boot |

There are fourteen episodes over 15 hours (approximately, if you add time in for commercials, etc.). I don't want to embarass myself by getting them out of order, but they are as follows:
Serenity (Parts 1 and 2) (2 hours) The Train Job Bushwacked Shindig Safe Our Mrs. Reynolds Jaynestown Out of Gas Ariel War Stories Trash (Never Aired) The Message (Never Aired) Heart of Gold (Never Aired) Objects in Space Originally aired: The Train Job Bushwacked Our Mrs. Reynolds Jaynestown Out of Gas Shindig Safe Ariel War Stories Objects in Space Serenity (Parts 1 and 2) It is my understanding that Sci-Fi has been airing in the proper sequence on Fridays. |

So......"Heart of Gold", "The Message", and "Trash" were not in the original broadcasts - but are they on the DVD?
Thanks! |

Yes, that is correct. I had a friend tell me she didn't think fox would have aired Heart of Gold anyway with all the whores and sex and stuff. I think the would have. It really isn't that bad.

I haven't seen "Heart of Gold" yet. I'm about 2 episodes behind but am hoping that my VHS won't fail me at the crucial hour ;-) Firefly astounds with its mixture of "sweetness" and severity.......I LIKE THAT!

My FireFly series DVD arrived today from Amazon and I am so pleased! It comes right on the heels of my video recorder screwing up taping "Objects In Space" last Friday. The SciFi airings are the first go around for me with the show and having missed the last episode was less bothersome knowing that DVD were in the mail!

This is Fox we are talking about... honestly, why why why did Firefly have to be on teen angst drama central FOX? That's why it bombed IMHO. As for the DVDs, there is an easter egg on the 4th disk. Find the special features where you have "Joss Whedon sings the Serenity theme" and then go left and up from that, highlighting the large filligree design above it, and you will be able to access Adam Baldwin (Jayne) singing a certain song from his favorite episode while wearing a particular orange hat from another episode. |

Yes! I heard about those "Easter Eggs" on "The Signal" podcast but haven't yet tested it.

OK, I'm sure WE all have it already, but in case you want to pick up another or whatever, Target (at least the one at 169 Hwy and Barry Rd.) has the series DVD on sale for $27.99. I think the sale started yesterday (4/9) and runs through this Saturday (4/15).
Kinda ticks me of considering I spend about $20 more for mine... |

Back when the DVDs were first announced, I reserved mine at $19.99 and it was sold to me at that price and not the $40 price (or whatever the price was once it was jacked up). Thanks for alerting us to this sale though, you never know if a Browncoat has some birthday presents, for-the-hell-of-it presents, Easter presents, etc. to buy for a friend or family member. I had a "Firefly" Xmas last year and all my friends got smthg "Firefly" from me :) ~Cassie |
