Title: Portal!
Description: New hotness from Valve

Mr. E - September 21, 2006 03:41 AM (GMT)
Here's a trailer to Valve's newest funtimes.

Think Myst, but with more spatial thinking and less having to pay attention to trivial bullshit details, set in the Half-Life universe.

CrimsonAlchemist - September 21, 2006 09:34 PM (GMT)
PWAHAHHA! THIS GAME LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME! I can't wait to have it freeze my computer.

Are you thinking with Portal?

MyrmidonZero - September 22, 2006 02:52 PM (GMT)
I remember seeing stuff for this a little while ago... it was either on this forum or something Rogue showed me...

Either way, it's pretty sweet looking

It's made of platinum, jewel encrusted sex.

That sounds distinctly unpleasant. Also Pygmalion-esque.

I may buy episode 2 just for portal, which looks like a halfway fun puzzle and logic game, instead of glacially slow puzzle games and OMFG you lose because you didn't notice some bullshit unimportant detail logic games.

You also get TF2 with it :D

Tutorial for playing HL2 with a portal gun incoming!

Ingredients needed:
GCFScape
HL2 + whatever Episode you want.
Portal
A slight understanding of file structure.

Instructions:
(Note: for the sake of simplicity I'm going to use vanilla HL2 maps)

Step one: Install GCFScape and open up your "Half-life 2 content.gcf" found in your C:/Program files/Steam/steamapps/ directory (or something like it).

Step two: Navigate your way to hl2/maps, an entire list with the maps for HL2 is displayed.

Step three: Create a directory in C:/Program files/Steam/steamapps/*username*/portal/portal called "maps"

Step four: Click and drag your desired map (or all of them, if you want the entire campaign) into the folder you just made.

Step five: Open Portal, and in the options menu, under keyboard settings, click "Advanced settings" and enable the developer console.

Step six: Open the console by pressing the ~ key, above the tab key.

Step seven: Type "changelevel d1_trainstation_0"

Step Eight: Type the following in console "Sv_cheats 1; impulse 101; sv_cheats 0"

You're welcome. :boobs:

I got most of those indie games for free because of a /V/.

Legally free, they where doing some sort of awesome charity that lets you donate how much you want and you can give away the games for free to whoever you want.

So dude posted the link on /V/ and I went and Dl all the installers and burned them onto my cd.

Ripster40 - May 28, 2010 01:20 AM (GMT)
No i didn't the guy did and he had the right to choose how he can give his donation, so he chose it to give it to random strangers.
