Title: Martin plays a MMO
Description: DnD Online

cmdrnmartin - September 28, 2009 06:30 PM (GMT)
Two forum idiots decided to try and seduce me to the dark side, and told me to load DnD online since it's free (eliminating my main issue with MMOs). They sweetened the deal by making sure that our Character names were the polar opposites of our personalities in Game.

For example:

Asteroid von Fireball is a Tough Fighter, not a sorceror.
Lucifetta Darkrose is a Drow (Evil Elf) that is a Happy go lucky LG Paladin.
Axehammer McBeardfist is a wimpy sorceror Dwarf.

(The strawhat makes him awesome, especially when he uses dynamic entry to surprise the shit out of me in dungeons. Oh, quality is terrible since I played on the wreck rig)

Why I enjoy playing.

All missions are done with your party, no one else to bug you. Our party is awesome, since the other two decided to hide in bushes for 20 minutes waiting for me to appear, and then ran out trying to attack me. We couldn't stop laughing for about half of last night.

It's DnD, which is always good fun.
The missions are nicely varied, and don't feel like grindfests.
It's free (always earns any game big marks)
There's more than just DPS/Tank/Healbot for roles in the game.

Things we learned: We need a Cleric, and a Rogue. Currently our healing ability involves hoping to hell we can find a rest shrine. Our current trap disarming strategy is "RUN LIKE HELL BOYS!" Clearly, if we plan to be even moderately succesful, we need to have some more party members. Specifically:

Nancypantz Yellowbelly, a brave and fearless Barbarian
A. Teaizt, warforged Cleric
Montana Smith, or Arizona James, dwarven Rogue.

Just make sure you're on the server that starts with TH, and that your name is mildly believable, but reflects the opposite of your class choice.

We need a Warforged Ranger named Fluffy Treekiller MkII

I'll be a cleric. Give me a suitably horrible name.

CrimsonAlchemist - September 29, 2009 03:30 AM (GMT)
Bludrinker The Killer

Or something...

Ripster40 - September 29, 2009 07:08 AM (GMT)
Sadly Warforged are unavailable for free accounts, you will either need to buy him or get a monthly subscription setup for it.

I remember trying out the trial a year ago, might start it up again since its free.

Didn't buy a warforged but have a Cleric - Abstinanth Teaizt

Yes, check your PM.

Attimus Blunderbus at your service.

I've been playing the new expansion since day 1 with a friend, trying to earn the favor points to unlock monk class. I will yet be the lazy Halfling monk, Coucho Potatimus...

I suppose in the meantime I'll play something else though. Lemme know what else you want in the party and I'll play it. I just enjoy the game in general. Good group fun. Be sure to come up with an equally ridiculous and completely unfitting name.

Snoogy - September 30, 2009 06:25 AM (GMT)
Fuck you Martin now these homos are going to come gay up our server.

It's the one with the TH at the end of the name.

That said, some character name ideas:

Rogues:

Gallance Brazenson
Conscience Forthright
Kosher of Charity
Conspicuouso the Friendly

Clerics:

Profanitor Paganos
Infedelius Agnostica
Heathena Blasphemorio
Sacreligent Iconoclaster

Mix and match names and stuff if you want, see if I give a fuck.

I hope none of you join.

Also another decent and awesome free to play game, Runes of Magic.

Some people consider it the free awesome version of WoW but with some unique stuff like unique dual classing.

Like for example I'm a Knight and a Mage, being able to use Knight abilities and then merging it with some Knight specific mage spells.

Actually I find it quiet enjoyable, you can learn all profession skills but you can only master a few, the combo class system is fuckin epic, being a defensive knight with healing spells saves me alot and makes soloing fun.
