I want to see the Horus Heresy acted out over 2-3 movies. Not some crappy Ultra-Marines skirmish.

Only problem with doing that is that the Heresy is so far back in the background fluff that it'd be a hard sell to the majority of young fans who are only into 40k cause "space marines are cool". Would be awesome for the rest of us though.

In terms of story it may be better if they went with the Horus Heresy, as there is actually a plot there beyond "Kill the xeno!" which is pretty much all the rest of WH40K is.
Plus, seeing the seige of the Imperial Palace on screen would be fucking cool. |

Which version? http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Ollanius_Pius GW retconned the Imperial Guard out of the Heresy. It wasn't a fucking blood angel that stood up to Horus, it was a lone fucking Guardsman. |

No, I mean the entire series of books and a few of the codex'. There is so much important backstory during the Heresy that it would be a little stupid not to use it as a base. But still, we'll see how it turns out. It was the Ultra-Marines that held the Imperium together after the Horus Heresy, but I still feel that that's a weaker storyline then the Heresy itself. |
