Short version.........................
Put newspaper inside polyboxes, use at least 15 litres of water per box to keep things stable during transit, starve fish for at least 24 hours before shipping, add a few drips of tcp to the transit water, use oxygen to inflate bags, expel a small amount and tie off ensuring the bags aren't overinflated as they will burst if dropped in transit, cover with newspaper and heatpack if temp is expected to go below freezing, seal lid well.....................

and stick a "this way up" arrow on it cos most carriers are thick as................  along with the mandatory "live animals" label. :D
agree with G, except the water quantity and I use bubble wrap instead of newspaper.....heat packs are a must and cost £1 for 5..oddly enough from the pound shop!

most independant carriers will deliver your fish as they want the business, of the larger companies, TNT do it.
I use the APC group, they are a little dearer, but collect from me "out of hours" and deliver to most UK post codes by 8.30am, so I can pack a box at 7pm and have it delivered in say Newcastle with in 13.5 hours.....not a bad effort, it would take me 7-8 hours to drive there.

When I was moving 40 plus boxes per week TNT gave me an unbelieveable deal for early delivery, but these days as Mark says APC offer an excellent service.
