Since this topic is current again, and several people have asked what I used to do here's hopefully a bit of help, and thanks to all of you who have thanked me for for helping them. Assuming the pair is fertile and there are no obvious water problems, here's what I have found to help, working on the assumption there is either a bacterial loading on the water, or something osmotically wrong. 1) Try using a full dose of myxazin at least 4 hours after eggs being laid, as myxazin can't distinguish between sperm and protozoan and will damage both. Repeat everyday until hatching 2) My favourite and most successful, but should really only be used if the myxazin didn't work. Again wait 4 hours from egg laying and add 1ml of tcp per 4 gallons, this is a once only dose, several on here have tried this with great success. 3) If you still aren't happy, again wait 4 hours from spawning and add a full dose of formalin and malachite, if this works there was some form of osmotic imbalance in your water, why it works I don't know, but if the above 2 don't work this will.... Hey Bazz, Sometimes fertile pairs throw up batches of white eggs for no obvious reason, the suggestions usually sorts the problem, Cheers G -------------------- |

Hey Jim, It usually means there is something not perfect with the water which can include high bio-load particularly if there is undissolved animal protein in the water from beefheart................. Cheers G -------------------- |
