Which 4x4x4 is best suited for speedcubing, and what modifications should I make to them to make them suited for speedcubing? Also, where can I get a rubik's magic?

I use a rubik's 4x4 that I have lubed. It is quite loose, although bad at cutting corners so I have a pretty slow 3x3 solve. As for the magic, all of mine are from rubiks.com, although I think I have seen one at a store called mind games before.

Depends on what you like. For 4x4, both Eastsheen and Rubiks are really good. I probably prefer Rubiks a little better since the pieces are a little bigger. Out of the box, Rubiks takes a little work to get them how you want.

Ah man.... I just bought an East Sheen 4x4... I hate it from the 30 solves I made with it I got 4 times NO OLL parity!!! and it came very tight out of the packaging. Inner slice moves are locking up a few times, so when I get an OLL parity it will take me more then 10 seconds!! :angry:

I tought that my times would go faster instead I have only two times under the 1:40 :(

I paid 15 euro's for it I'd rather have bought an Rubik's 4x4 for just 10 euro's :( (I know someone who has a new 4x4 non used).

Yeah, Eastsheens get worse over time...

Is there a significant differnce between a rubik's and a studio 4x4x4? If so, what is it?

Studio's are just Rubiks. However, every once in a while Rubiks's changes the mold of there cubes, so you never you which ones you get.

Rama: 26 out of 30 OLL-parities???? That is pretty unlikely (let's see if someone will calculate this probability). I just got a new 4x4x4 EastSheen this week and broke 1:40 on average. I hadn't even lubed that one!
