Answer! Everyone's opinion matters :D
buttertoast2792 - October 5, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
I think its awful that stars have have photographers following them 24/7 they never can have privacy
Will - October 5, 2007 10:22 PM (GMT)
They know what they're getting into so I really don't care about how they feel at all. Personally I think it's stupid people have such an obsession with these people, but whatever.
Nattella - October 5, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
I like gossip and that sort but sometimes it just gets to extreme like when they try to break into their houses to take nudity pics. There are limits and though celebs know what they brought themselves into to its no excuse for getting intimate/dangerous etc.
Like the whole deal with Britney Spears, they caused her mental destress and should leave her alone if they got ANY respect for other human beings.

its cool to hear about whos sleeping with the nanny or whos losing their kids or whos too skinny or something like that .but it gets to a point where thats all they talk about and it gets annoying.and sometimes the stalkarazzi takes it over board and act like they are so special.if I was a celeb Id say the same words Greta Garbo once said"I want to be alone"
jaysun - October 6, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
I think sometimes celebrities ask for it. HYDE or THE IVY are popular, popular spots in LA and the paps (paparazzi) always linger around there. Same thing with RODEO or ROBINSON drive(lane? road?), very popular locations where celebs get stalked by them. But its sort of their faults. I know celebs are ppl too and they wanna live their lives but its still...i compare it to Walmart. U know its gunna be crowded, you know like three lanes are open and the lines are like 4 miles long, but you still go anyway. They know the paps are always at these locations and yet they still go...
so in that sense, yeah sometimes it can be controlled but i don't agree with bashing celeb's private lives at all. I blame ourselfs too. Like Divino said, we would much rather hear about gossip more than anything else.
buttertoast2792 - October 6, 2007 03:13 AM (GMT)
yeah but they get stalked at their homes to so if your gonna be stuck somewhere getting the camera's flashed in your face go to a club cuz they can't get in
FashionSpolight - October 6, 2007 05:16 AM (GMT)
I really think that these celebrities are humans just like us. Us humans go around sleeping with people other than our spouse, we go through anorexia and bulimia, we also do drugs but it becomes a problem when celebrities can't do it??? I think everyone has a right for their privacy, but hey they chose that road...they have to deal with the consequences.
Just like the upcoming teen stars that aren't yet famous, they feel like that everything is perfectly fine but they yet fail to look at the more experienced stars. What they sign up for is what they're going to get.

In my opinion that really isn't a valuable side, because that's like saying, well you really shouldn't go to the best, and most liked streets in LA because there will be poparatzi there! Same with walmart, it's cheap and like has EVERYTHING so ppl are obviously gunna go there, ya know?
Like everyone else I think the poparatzi go way over, and I really don't think it's that fair to even say that they know what they're getting into, because ya they do, but there not just not gunna make a career or singing because poparatzi are gunna chase them, because that's what they love to do!
(I know that sounds very grammatically jumbled but I can't be bothered to fix it.

Oh i agree with everything u said Proff! What I meant was, they shouldn't complain. U know how Lindsay and Paris, always complain in certain situations. I know those places are the best places in LA, but there should be no complaining if the paps are all over them there. What I meant was, u know they're gunna be there so don't get upset when they are all over u taking pics just like u know walmart is crowded so don't complain that u had to wait for an hour just to purchase the sims 2 seasons...u know what i mean?!
or just go to the electronics counter..that line is always short as hell! hah!

At some point, I do give it to the celebrities for taken such a non-private life but like Will said, they know what they're getting into but I don't understand why some celebrities like commit suicide or do something stupid because they can't have a private life when they should know from the start that that's whats going to happen.
xproffesor23 - October 7, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
How many celebrities out there commit suicide?
I don't know, but I haven't heard of too many cases of that. In general though, camera men just go way to far, and often know how to push the celebs to the limit. If I was a celebrity, I'd make damn sure know popparatzi came near me if ya know what I'm saying ;)
jaysun - October 7, 2007 03:57 AM (GMT)
haahahaha I would wear big sunglasses and shout
NO PICTURES NO PICTURES or
I would just pose like i was some supermodel in the street. Or pull my pants down like Im britney or something.
I can't wait to be famous.........
Simaholic111 - October 15, 2007 10:08 PM (GMT)
ehh...Im on the fence with it. I personally think us as a society shouldnt really care as much about their lives as we do (& Im guilty of it...I read Perez! lol)...thats the source of the issue. The reason why the paparazzi exist and are so vicious with what they do is because of the high demand there is on celebrities lives. Its kind of sad how a photo of Britney Spears dropping one of her kids or even something silly like picking her nose or butt can be worth more than most people's cars. But thats b/c of demand of a photo like that.
Its personally intrusive but paparazzi do have the right as long as they dont do crazy stuff like camp out in a famous person's garage or something.
citylites - October 16, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
That's a good point. I don't see why...but i am also guilty of reading STAR and etc.
simster - April 18, 2008 08:00 AM (GMT)
Obviously there needs to be a line set, when is it too much and when is it not? Yeah celebrities do know what they're getting themselves into--being viewed in the public eye. But sometimes it's just too much...they can barely even walk out of restaurants without being crowded with poparazzi.
Laws need to be set. These poparazzis are a harm to the environment, and they should be treated like criminals--they've caused accidents, damaged property, and so forth. Celebs need their space and any popa crossing into their space should be jailed. [by their space I mean like laws where celebrities are protected by an imaginary line.]
((Okay I just made myself laugh. Crazy!))
slice - April 18, 2008 10:44 AM (GMT)
Well, there are laws against invasion of privacy and such. But since celebrities are public figures (like politicians, except less important), they don't exactly eligible for the same type of privacy laws as the average citizen.
jadedaspade4 - June 14, 2008 11:42 PM (GMT)
well, it kind of depends.
lets say a really famous actress got her first job at age 5. she's hardly gonna know what to expect! she just wants to be on tv and have fun, at that age.
but say that same actress got her first job at age 20. she really should know exactly what she's letting herself in for.
there definitley should be some sort of boundary. celebrities do get hounded 24/7.
take Britney Spears for instance, she is never-left-alone. and everyone here will know that she could really do without that, given her current health (though she is getting way better, and i love that she's not in that bad place anymore).
im not gonna sit here and say i do not read gossip columns or go on websites. im addicted to tmz/perez/x17. but i think sometimes to photogs do go a bit too far.

In that kind of situation, though, I think the parents are expected to protect their child from those sorts of things. In fact I should anticipate that most child-celebrities haven't gotten into "the business" on their own initiative. I mean, take the Olsen twins for example. Clearly -- that isn't an instance of them seeking out a career path (unless I am mistaken), though having been almost forced into fame, I have to say that they seem to be able to handle it pretty well. Obviously there are exceptions, but from a financial and mental standpoint (as compared to Lindsay Lohan, etc) they appear to be doing well.
Honestly, celebrity magazines are just another way to make money. I mean it's almost a shame that people complain about how paparazzi is exploitive -- God knows there's worse examples to be found with child labor and international trade.

Good point there.
I just think celebrities are there for our entertainment purposes. They really should know what theyre getting into before they get themselves into it and understand if they can really handle it. I do agree with what Brielle said about child stars that it is their parents jobs to protect them from that sort of thing and to decide if they really want their child being exposed to that.
And lets face it, lots of them LOVE it. Denying they do is part of their act. Lots of them became more famous for their public lives than they did for their "careers".
Im guilty of reading perezhilton.com while at work. They have to realize theyre not only going to just sing or act...every part of them will be entertainment for the public. And thats no secret to anyone in this world.

I'm guilty also, I'm a big fan of tabloids..they're fun to read , and well E! News and Daily 10 and stuff.
-Dior- - June 24, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
I don't think its right that they cant have a life, i mean they cant even like go ANYWHERE without paparazzi following them. I mean probably sometimes it would be fine, but i don't think its right for them to do it 24/7 they should lay off celebs sometimes. except for those who attract it to themselves, if they want attention then i suppose it doesn't matter.

I dont think so...I think they should have their own private lives. As much as I want to know what they do in their free time, I wouldn't like if whenever I opened up my window there are cameras taking my picture and saying, "Caught with her boyfriend having sex" if I'm really not...I mean...really.
